And if they have them is there stuff to hunt I heard animals were very rare
No, it's not a priority due to the coming escalation. But the developers have said that all the groundwork and trigonometry is done for ballistics, so hopefully it'll come not too far into the future.
Animals are common, in my opinion too common, if you're a good tracker you'll find loads of them in the wilds (not near populated areas, they're usually over-hunted).
Also though, hunting as at the very least large issues if not bugs.
For instance, animals tend to warp away and to the player, depending on whether the animal is fleeing or attacking.Which means ALOT of animals get will get away no matter how skilled your char or you the player are at hunting.AND that combat can be rather odd with said animals.
Hunting is one of the features that i really hope they get to work correctly.
Bare in mind , my experience with it is like a week or so old.

Personally, I think hunting is one of the most enjoyable skills. And hunting the animals when they're warping just makes the challenge greater, I like it. Allthough I hope it will be fixed, but I'm just saying that you can still have great fun with the skill.

Some comments on how "rare" the animals are in Roma Victor.
Unlike most MMO's where you can just stand and wait a bit for monsters to respawn so you can gank them again and get your loot and highly coveted experience points, RB has set things up to be somewhat realistic. As far as I know, nobody has figured out the timing algorithms involved, but an area where all the wolves and bears have been tracked down and killed will remain empty for a period of days. As with real life, the result is that wilderness areas within a few kilometers of each settlement tend to be hunted out. I always advise new players who ask about hunting to spend the time to travel far from town. This can mean they will need to run for over an hour before they pick up any animal tracks. One of my own guildmates is a prolific hunter and she can run far into the wilderness for a couple days and come back carrying 25 or more wolf pelts which we then use to make fur boots and other things. A hunter can make gains in various combat skills during the fights but the value of pelts is only what the economy at the time will make it which means right now they are not worth much.
The bears and wolves do have an aggro range (which actually might be random) and if you're unlucky enough to encounter them in a densely wooded area, they're probably on you shortly after you've spotted them. Each animal has a random combat strength but there's no way to tell what it is by looking at it. I have not lately experienced any warping movement from animals attacking me but it certainly happens with domesticated animals you try to feed and they just run away. There are still some fps issues when fighting animals but it's not bad enough to hinder you much. There seems to be certain weapons and certain attack moves with those weapons that work better than others against these animals - at least this is what I have observed. So, part of your skill as a hunter comes from your own personal experience. A good thing.
