Ok ok ...I know there is a thread about this but I wanted to say some things about the movie that would ruin it for the people who haven't yet seen it and will be going to see it.
With that said, let me state that I did enjoy watching it. It was a great eye candy movie and if you have 8 to 9 bucks to blow, I would recommend it.
However
Here's some problems with the movie.
1. What the hell is the point in making a green goblin mask when you only use it for about 3 seconds? Think about all the time and technology it took to make a visor like that only to use it for only three seconds. Even near the end of the movie, he never used it.
2. What's with Spidey loosing his face mask after every damn fight only to find it again after he beats the bad guy? In the comics I never saw him loose his mask so easily.
3. Why is it that every damn enemy knew who Spider Man really was? In the comics, Venom was so "strong" because he knew who he was and who his loved ones are. In the movies, every single damn enemy of spider man learns of his true identity. What the hell does he do? Have spider man in the yellow pages along with his real name?
4. Venom was too easy to beat. In the comics it took forever for Spidey to get even, much less when a fight. In the movie it was like "hmm lets clang some bars together" (although the venom suit was fantastic on Brock)
5. Too many damn enemies in this movie. One is great. Two is just two much. Three is a friggin movie nightmare. There was so much crap going on in this plotline that two additional movies should have been used to cover it all.
6. Less action than the second movie. Don't get me wrong. There was action but being that the movie was 2 hous and 20 minutes long I swore and hour and a half of that was Peter and Mary Jane crying over each other's lost love.
7. Gwen Stacey. Ok. What was that lol. In the comics, Gwen was Peter's first love b ut he accidentally killed her when The Vulture threw her off a building and his spidey web accidentally snapped her neck in the sudden stop. What was the point in adding her in the movie...and not killing her?
8. Why does every enemy of Spider Man has to die. Its like, "If I can beat you, you will die. If I have no damn way to beat you, I'll say I forgive you and let you escape?" Now I know they cant let every bad guy go to jail because it's a movie and not a comic book. But come on... killing Venom after fighting for 15 minutes? I dont think so.
With that said,
I did love the Evil Parker. Man, he was smooth in that Jazz restuarent! lol!!

In the comics Eddie Brock/Venom eventually becomes Spider-mans best friend and ally, I really dont see that happening in the movies now that they killed him after 20 minutes.

Boba Fett
aye
they were going to concentrate on Green Goblin Jr and more of the sandman in the 4th one but Kirsten D refused to sign on for another movie and Toby M is pretty confidant that he is done.

Thats why alot of British directors want to stay making in Britain because we have no such laws over out cinema.
My 2 beef
First: No real background about the symbiote later know as Venom, just dropped out of ...well... space..from where?
Second: Why was everyone crying, and don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with a little tearshed but common Sandman, Spidey, Goblin aswell all their alter ego's and it wasn't a one time cry ...No numerous times they kept going. Not seen a sci-fi movie with this much crying atleast not a Marvel one.
Other then that i did enjoy the movie, felt the special effect showed improvement compared to the previous parts.
Intrested idea: Spiderman/Superman movie, well or a all Marvel heroes movie, think it will need the budget of all Marvel movies to make it perhaps in time.....when tech catches up...hey where did i hear that before
I do like to add (regardless the end of Venom) that this part of Spiderman came closer (hens the crying and mask lose) to the original spidey then the first 2 movies, as they where more like a tv serie with only one villian. Because they cramped up 3 villians in Spiderman3 it felt finaly like a real spidey movie instead of just a tv episod where its normal to have 1 good and 1 bad guy. Seems many prefure the tv serie version
1. It was too damn busy. You had way too many plotlines going off at once. If the guys didnt want to sign on for a fourth then tough luck to them and use different actors. That has been pulled off successfully quite a few times. Personally I wouldnt have had venom in it until the very final scene before the credits rolled. Have Spiderman trying to deal with Sandman and of course Green Goblin Jr. the entire movie. First hour he fights them both and gets his arse handed to him. He tries to regroup but Osborn starts his thing with MJ. Then Parker gets the new suit. And he uses that suit to defeat both of them and in the process kills Osborn. Realizing its the suit he dumps it in the bell tower and it moves to Brock. Final scene would be an alley way and Venom for a quick 3 second appearence. Ready for part 4.
2. If Venom was killed then it was a bad move on their part. I say "if" because he could have gotten away with Brock in the explosion plus Conners still has a part of him. But if he was killed that would akin to killing off Wolverine. Venom is that popular. Plus now how would they throw Carnage into the mix later?
3. I am tired of his mask always getting torn up and taken off in every movie. I dont know about you guys but I would think by the second time I would invest in some sort of better material to make that mask.
4. Whats with Osborn and Spiderman teaming up in the end? Osborn hated him. I dont think they ever teamed up before.
Kai
Right........... i just watched Spiderman 3 :
Wtf is with EMO Peter Parker? Looks sooo gay and ruins the film..................
terror....just out of curiousity.... did you really watch Spider Man 3 yet?
Personally, I thought the evil Parker was one of the best parts of the film. I just hated the fact that they brought the nerd back.

Yeh downloaded it lol..
It was Cheesey and rushed and the only highlight of the film was Kirsten Dunst because tbh as soon as she gets them fangs sorted out, i wouldm't say no.

well...there is a little tiny sliver left on a scientist's desk
But Eddie Brock is dead. Yes. Vaporized like Mourning MMO was.

At my friend's urging I attended my second Spiderman Midnight Premier in a row. I wasn't very hyped about the movie, though of course I wanted to see it.
Personally I think that the movie was the worst of the 3. This is because they crammed too much into it, obviously 2 movies worth of ideas was shoved into 1. The second thing was the bad editing. There was no flow to the movie. Also the person responsible for the soundtrack throughout the movie did a poor job. The music was inappropriate for the current scene most of the time. The movie also seemed way more campy than the other 2 and more campy then it should have been. The characters were poorly done so that they alternated between annoying, uncaring, uninspired, and just plain jack-asses(Of course I am not refering to Spiderman under the influence of the symbiote).
The new Green Goblin mask should have been used at the beginning but I absolutely understand why it wasn't used at the end. He was not supposed to be "frightening" but a "hero".
I could care less that it showed Venom(Eddie Brock) dying or Harry because in a series of movies like this anything can happen and seem plausible. I expect Venom and Eddie Brock will return if Spiderman makes it to 4 movies which appears to be a possibility(but not for quite a few years from what I hear). I was unhappy however with Venom being made more athletic and less "hulking". I always didn't care for the lack of a tongue and Topher Grace's face/voice instead of Venoms' 75% of the time.
In the end I disliked it because the people behind it knew they had a sure thing and did not feel they had to inject any real quality when it came to the plot or the character interaction.
So they could do a Venom movie showing the otherside of the explosion. Venom grabs Brock just as we saw. But when the bomb goes off you see, on the otherside, Venom tossing most of itself and Brock threw the explosion to land somewhere on the otherside of the building. Both seriously wounded must now take time to heal.
Kai
TOPHER GRACE is Venom? Huh? He's all tiny like. How did he look as Venom, was he frightening or just kind of bleh and small?

That's all said and good and everything. But If you watch it closely, Broke was clearly vaporized. I mean you saw his entire skeleton turn into dust. I dont think anyone can survive that

Not teaming up persay, but in the comic books, there was the situation(s) of harry regaining his sanity, and in one situation stopped Spider-man from dying because of it.
Also akin to the movie, at his time of dying, there was the whole, "Peter you're my best friend" bit.

It's equivalent to X-Men 3, a butchered movie with atleast one or two many clichées in every scene.

Im still gonna go see it so I didnt read the OP (sorry man )
Our local movie review show here (that I respect quite a bit) gave it a mixed review. One said it sucked mightily and gave it 2/5 the other said it was best in series and gave it 3.5/5
Ill decide for myself.

What are you talking about?
- Parker and Watson "i love you me neither" for the third film... come on, we got bored with it during the 2nd already. They stay together or they don't, don't bother us with it anymore.
- the crying - people were LAUGHING in the theater during the 2 big crying scenes. they were laughing...
- the big USA flag behind spiderman when he goes fighting venom and the sadnman... come on this is a SPIDERMAN movie not a "where is ousama" flick
- the 3 big villains are cool, but given that there are 3 of them, they are rushed, and wasted, especially Venom. What a waste. They could have made an awesome movie with both venom and carnage.
I was extremely disappointed, because venom is hands down the coolest villain in the spiderman universe, and he lived a grand total of 15-20 minutes.

Overall the film wasn't bad, however the 'emo parker' was laughable. Unfortunately Toby Mcguire simply hasn't enough acting ability/experience to pull anything more than the 'happy go lucky Pete Parker' character off. The whole 'messed up hair' look was just silly and really became cringe-worthy to watch after a while.
To me, that was part of the charm. It was so God-awful bad, that it was brilliant.
Even evil, he was still a happy-go-lucky nerd.
