I wouldn't be suprised if it were delayed to at least Q4 as well.
As mentioned above, NC has a habit of doing the good and giving their developers ample time to make games. Hence why most of their games come with devoted followers and a firm reputation.

Haven't we learned by now to never, I repeat, NEVER, regard vendor "release dates" as anything more than their own hopeful estimation? Often, outright lies just to get some pre-order dollars.
I don't know that it's nose-snubbing to say "it will be released when it's done" at all. In the wake of Vanguard, no one in their right mind will release a title that's not ready for public consumption. Quite frankly, I get weary of everyone running to fan sites like this one and posting "When?" threads, and my personal favorite "How much will it cost?" Instead of asking the same stupid questions, just look at the official game website. Unless the title has "Guild Wars" in the name, it's a pretty safe bet the price will be $15/month USD "industry standard" and the official site will post a release date. Anything not officially announced is bunk.
Well they have currently - officially said end of September.
Its just started closed beta now - but I expect that if they need more time they will take it.
They have already scrapped 70% of the game and started again 3 years ago so I cant see them rushing it out the door just to make sales if they think it needs more work.
there is alot of answers to this, if you look around the web.
last night G4 said "This Summer"
News letter's saying this fall.
and everywhere in between
Richard G and NC Soft never release a game untill they think its ready, so i wouldnt worry about a early launch if they are going into beta now, they must be confident in the product.
The game was suppose to be released last year in the fall then was pushed back to this year in the fall..
With closed beta started ill expect that to be 4-5months of closed testing if things go smoothly and a two weeks to 1month public beta.
My guess is mid november is prime time for this game to release, they have half a year of beta and its just in time to launch for the holiday season. (its all about making money after all, isnt it?)
anyways thats just my guesses.
--excuse the sloppyness of this post.. im on alot of meds right now ><

If you get weary of people asking questions about games on a gaming forum perhaps it time to go read something else. I asked the question "hoping" to be released as i was curious, i couldn't find it and thought hummm a gaming forum maybe they will know, isn't that after all the point of a gaming forum? Damn after reading some of those replies i feel like just posted on the WoW forums. Is this just the way of gaming forums these days, flamefest?
I must be getting old.
Thank you to those who took the question for what it was, i.e. an honest question.
I do however look forward to the games release and hope that it lives up to expectations.
I wasn't flaming you at all, TotalPSA. In fact, other than my comments about the "when?" threads in general, I wasn't specifically replying to you either. I did get the impression from your initial post that you did look elsewhere before posting, and if that was the case, I tip my hat to you and sorry I didn't acknowledge it first; I wish more people would do that.

"When it's ready"
And NCSoft has a proven track record of not rushing their developers and partners into release dates.

Yeah, I've heard that one before. Besides, is there really a reason to snub your nose at this perfectly valid question?
EBgames says September 3. Of course, that's subject to change.

QFT, I am excited as is everyone else. One thing is not to put a release date out, then if they happen to miss it, it isn't to big of a let down.
