Is anyone familiar with the pen and paper roleplaying game by White Wolf called Vampire The Masquerade? It was one of my favorites, second only to Dungeons and Dragons. Many pen and paper roleplaying games have been made into computer games of some sort. White Wolf's game was made into a PC RPG called Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption. It was a game that seemed to spark the creation of Neverwinter Nights. It had the same style of play with a storyteller (dungeonmaster in NWN) and other players who would participate in player made adventures online. It was great and a lot of fun, if not for the limitations for storytelling and mod making.
All you fans of the White Wolf's World of Darkness games, take a vote about which you like that best, and give your opinions about which you would like to see made into a mmorpg. I would love to see Vampire made into a mmorpg.
(Soon there will be a shooter/RPG called Vampire: Bloodlines, but I am talking about a real mmorpg).

Absolutely, I love it.
One person you should poke on our staff would be Malkavian, he's a vampire nut.

That game was just awesome i could not get enough of it, until i no longer could find it anywhere.
What a sad state of affairs i could have had so much fun playing that game, it would be really sweet if they made a vampire mmo cause that would be sweet. Never got to play it much but the time i did, woah.
Just take a look at my name.
Never played the Vampire one though. Wasn't there, or isn't there, supposed to be a sequel to the pc version of Vampire the Masquerade?
I would like to see an mmorpg based on White Wolf's pen & paper games moast definitely, taking something from all of them. One where you could have different factions, say vampires, werewolfs, and hunters. All 3 factions would battle each other. Vampires and werewolfs would try to control society, and all the while, hunters would fight to save all poor human mortals. You could have a hiearchy or ranking system among the vampires and werewolfs. Vampires would have different covens or clans, and werewolfs would be organized into packs. Hunters would be ranked based on their reputation, and their reputation would be based on # of kills and the toughness of those kills. You could have hunter guilds or secret societies. You could throw in mummies and mad scientists too. It would be one hell of a mmorpg.

Ty for the link to the thread. Just read it. This thread is a little bit more specific though in that the question being an mmorpg based off of White Wolf pen & paper games. This one dude's post creeped me out though. He had a good idea until he started talking adding elves and hobbits. What was up with that? Well, to each his own I guess.
Speaking of the above post on what type of character, aka creature, would you play, werewolf. Having to feed on blood to sustain your life force is a drawback. Just kidding! Vampires are cool too. I've just always had a fondness for the werewolf.

Funny story Im a 20 year old female and ive been a hardcore gamer for oh almost 6 years now or something like that. I know when you talk to most girls who play these games 99 percent of them do it because a boyfriend or husband got them into it but not trus in my case.
Vampire was actually my first online game i played it for a year (I look back and cant imagine how that game was entertaining for that long, for anyone who actually played the multiplayer for any amount of time right after the games release you probably know me as genisis)
Anyway after the fall of my guild there I left for EQ but I love vampires and that game is what drew me to the game in the first place Id love to see a real mmorpg made from vampire.
I've thought about this a lot. The concept is so amazingly fantastic that I really wonder why no-one has started developing a WoD-themed MMORPG yet.
The only even remotely WoD-themed online games at the moment are MUDs called "Vampire Wars: The Catalyst" and "Vampire Wars Classic".

Drat, there really needs to be a "delete post" button for when I don't read the threads properly
Btw you forgot to add Wraiths on the poll. Or did you?

World of darkness is just begging to be made into a mmorpg, I do not understand why more PnP games are ported to the computer.
like 40% of all the work is allready done, worldbuilding and storyline. NPC's and interesting locations, items and gear and on and on.. add to this an allready existing fanbase, its like having money in the bank before you even start making it. PvP is also sorted if people can choose either the sabbat or Camarilla (no one can guess what Malk will play:) ) , Technocracy or traditions.
If it were to come I would by all probability play a mage of the Void engineers, or a Vampire of the La sombra. (I bet however we would see a lot of Virtual adepts called Neo1 trough Neo999)

Id play it if it wasnt set up with some kind of weird grind in place, where as a vampire first you have to go around sucking blood out of Mice, then you work your way up to rats at level 4. Cats at 7.
If it was based around a great story and content, and not a grind, it would probably be a nice change.
