Interface Questions

Is there a comprehensive tutorial out there for the interface using a mouse and keyboard.  I have a trackball mouse and am having a difficult time trying to map out a playable combination for the offline demo.  I just want to make sure I like the game before I go buy a joystick etc.  Also any news on the free trial that was rumored to happen after the last patch?

Thanks,

Go out and buy a joystick as soon as possible you wont regret it.. I've tried the mouse movement stuff with like planes and turrets.. its REALLY  crappy.. flying a plane with a mouse seems impossible to me.. and the turrets are just unresponsive with it.. I havn't got my cd key yet so i havn't played online but this is just with my experience offline..

I concur about getting yourself a joystick asap.  You will want to read up on the default keys and what they do until they become 2nd nature.  There IS a keymapper, but I have to say that I have never particularly been a fan of its layout and it can be fairly complicated.  Flying or driving with a mouse & keys are NOT recommended, though technically possible.  You wouldn't be able to play with any significant chance of defeating the competition.  Join a squad or at least hang with one & ask a player who is a vet and who is helpful about details regarding keys, etc.

Since Day One, when I first joined, the keymapper has left something to be desired in my own opinion, but the defaults are soundly laid out and function well in the heat of combat (as long as you have a joystick).

You say using a joystick is best for driving stuff - but what about when you are on foot, isnt a mouse better then as in other first person shooters?
