Is trading viable in EVE? As in you can start doing it and keep doing and not do THAT much else to make your money?
Thanks.

while not my field of expertise i do believe the answere is yes you can just be a trader and get by on just buying lots of stuff in one area of space and run it to another and resell it for more there. however i believe it wont be really lucrative till you cna get a freighter wich isnt that bad... advanced spaceship command 1 and racial industrial at 5... could have the skills in a month ide wager... the funds to buy the frieghter are going to be soemthing youll be saving for for a bit (they run 1 billion isk each)

Trading is very viable in Eve, especially in backwater Empire systems, and border 0.0 systems, where there is high traffic.

You would need a chunk of ISK to start with, and then just patience to find a suitable location.

One can even make an income as an ammo merchant, as it is always in demand.

Keep in mind that it is difficult to make even T1 items out in deep space, some some ppl will come into border systems to buy bulk...

I do that with my second character, is my bank character so to speak. He buys, sells, and hauls.

You can quite easily do just trading, in fact most Corps/Alliances have a main trader to put things out into the market for them when a frieghter run goes out.

For the general person just trying to get into trading, it is usually better to also do a little mining or mission running until you find your routes and get enough capital to start getting enough sales. Best way to start is to get a good sized hauler and move anything you can hold where you can find a good need for it. For instance if you find an area with a good chunk of lets say Zydrine, and its going fairly cheap, and you noticed earlier there is another region that isn't too far away, you could make a good few trips back and forth hauling it and setup one big sell order.

The bigger the order on minerals the better, since people doing a lot of production, especially for ships don't want to have to go from station to station. This is the same reason that most modules can be a little more expensive in one station then another in the same system. If you have modules/drones/ammo for sale, find the station with the better agents, that will be the main hub of mission runners there and most people will pay a little extra for the conveniance of not having to switch stations to find one gun here and one gun there.

Yes it can and in generaly a freighter is bad for trading as you tend to flood your sell point reducing profits. not to mention being slow as hell
