Getting your ass kicked by a post apocolyptic fairy priceless.
im Dling the game right now, so tell me Is it hard to understand all the text in this game, I mean even with msapploc?
Can you give me a quick rundown on useful info and a breakdown of the UI? I would appreciated it
I'm at about 90% done on the install myself.
If anyone has install complications a thread at gamefaqs has some troubleshooting info. The hardest part was actually naming your toon and you might have to turn on regional settings on windows xp so you can switch to japanese letters using left alt+shift. If all else fails just do I what did and name your toon random letters lol. Be careful though you are only limited to one toon it seems unless you get some kind of currency called cp but since your name will mostly be in japanese I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Just to let ya know, Monster Hunter Frontier is up for download.
I cannot get it to run under AppLocale, every time it goes to luanch the game thry AppLoc it goves me an error window says it needs to close down, any ideas?
Got It Working just cant figure out how to create and save a char
I managed now to get a English name but had to create another account since it seems to be one toon per account. This site was very helpful link. The way I've found that is best to get past the naming process is too either copy and paste in a name written using the proper symbols (useful site here) or too install optional support in xp as in the first link above which enables a bar which you can change to and from the many forms of Japanese and input a English spelled name (check in the first link). Using that method should also nullify the need for applocale but it is not recommended. Also I have found under the system menu and under the check mark icon will be a set of tabs in which you will find options for shadows and ghosting. Once you manage to disable the ghosting effect the graphics gain a significant increase in quality.

i think i've set the regional settings right since the wording used is different and I've already set imageupdate with apploc can anyone tell me what I can do to patch it fully?
link. The servers were down this morning for patching also.
Has anyone been playing this? I know that it is hard to navigate when you don't speak Japanese, but I have run into several English players.
Whats this game about ? Whats that little ghost thing next to the guy ?
There are several Megami Tensei games, and this is the online MMORPG edition of the series. The story takes place somewhere in between Shin Megami Tensei I and II. The game is quite unique in the fact that you go around trying to recruit different monsters, and fuse those monsters together to create more powerful monsters. The little ghost guy near the character is a devil called Jack Frost.
Sounds familiar...think I played a gba version of this game.....whats the western name for it ? The jack frost fellow rings a bell, think the gba game had 2 versions dark and light right ?
Hmmm, I believe there was a GBA game in the series called DemiKids, with a light and dark version. I found this website explaining the history of the series:
http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/megaten/megaten.htm
I have never played any of the other games in the series but I have run into several English speaking players here that have. It is pretty fun!
Ive dowloaded the game and im updating right now but I cant get the applocal to work. I dont even see a option for Japanese. So anyone know what is up with that? This game looks sweet and Id really like to play,
Thanks for your time.
@Welles
Figured that you may want to update a few things (or not..or maybe it's just me...)
I'm not sure what I did wrong on the game client dl'ing part (passed registrations just fine btw, I'll elaborate further..) but I noticed that right after the 2nd confirmation (the 2nd 'Regist' button), a different downloader (with a different filename - MiLauncher.exe to be exact) was highlighted by the following game client download page. So I figured (just as a failsafe) what the heck, better be safe and get both. So I launched the 1 supplied by the 1st post and it can't seem to get past 5kb/s even with ports 6881+ forwarded. Decided to leave it till it hit 3% and then figured something was definitely off. Then I proceeded to run that other 1 when it finally got comfy in 50-100kb/s average range.
Now here's the catch:-
1. 1st downloader = 270mb file
2. 2nd downloader = 690mb file. **update 13/08/07 yeah this one's the real deal - chakl337
Which is the correct 1? Even if the 1st one IS the correct downloader, I can't seem to speed the dl'ing process up with that?
