coming back to ac... anyone willing to help a nub?

well... after abour 2 years of playing AC im coming back. if anyone has any suggestions on a server, etc AIM me: ChrisGilroyBH.

 

Also... back in the day I was a BM.... im curious as to whats a decent class nowadays? or is it pretty much balanced? also is there any site with UPDATED char templates? or have they pretty much stayed the same?

    I just returned too.  I'm on the 14 day trial and haven't made up my mind on whether to try to reactivate my old account or not.  With a max level 80 or so avatar it's a hard choice.  Levels come a lot quicker now.



    A battle mage is still one of the best builds around.  New character templates now reflect the min-max builds that have always been popular in-game.  And you can now specialize, or untrain, skills after creation.  With the new max level of 275, more skill points are given out.  The maximum you can have specialized is 64 skill points with any others being trained.  From what I can tell everyone now wears armor with robes only being fashion wear.  Item magic banes now cast on all worn items with a single cast.



    The spawns have changed  in most of Dereth to be higher levels of critters than they were.  I was just in a dungeon that states it is for level 5+ avatars.  It was filled with level 44+ monsters.  The run to the Mayoi mage is a lot more dangerous for a low level avatar now.



    I don't have a suggestion on server.  I've started on WintersEbb but I hear there are more populated servers.  WintersEbb general chat is taken over with PK Lite boasts and insults.  I believe Frostfell is still one of the more popular servers.

    No you don't want to play BM. Most mages now are spec War and Melee D because there are wands with + to melee d.
