Looking for something else...

As  I am sure you folks have a pretty good handle on what MMOs are out there and what is also coming.  I've been looking for something new and just can't find anything to hold me for more than a month ... tops...

So heres what I would like to find something fitting most of these (importance from the top).

1.  True player driven economy   -   Not just an auction house .. I should not be able to make my currency simply on my own, there should be more to it than just selling what I kill to a vendor.

2.  Crafting reliance   -   Why even bother with having crafting in a game if I can get better gear from just killing a bear... and for that matter what the hell kind of bear carries plate armor and potions on them anyways?

3.  Realistic group sizes   -   I hate nothing more than having to find 20, 30 or even 40 people just to kill something.  If I was going to do that downtown i would only be taking 3-10 people as is.

4.  Decent combat   -  I'm sick of seeing my toon do the same 3 moves for 5060 levels.  all that changes are the titles and the damage.

5.  Something that hasn't been over run   -   When everyone has been at the level cap for 2 years it makes it kind of difficult to get anywhere with out just a grind, and for that matter...

6.  Lack of grinding   -   Whats with the need to grind to the top to get any content?  Why cant there be something to enjoy on the way up?

7.  Change of gear   -   I don't like the fact that there are so few models for armor and weapons in a lot of games.

8.  its not that important but i would like something that looks decent...

There are a few things that I've heard of or seen AoC is supposed to have player citys I like what that entails (unless they do something really wrong).  Warhammer is supposed to have some kind of good combat to it.  and so on...

Heres what I've played (or done beta) ... for at least a month

UO

SWG

WoW

Guild Wars

CoH

FFXI

EVE

EQ2

Planetside

Second life  -  this game hurts my head

VSoH

Anarchy

LotRO  -  currently

And I'm sure theres a few I've given trials to that I don't remember or want to talk about...

If there is anything that you know of that might be something I would enjoy let me know.

Erm... how about Granado Espada: http://ge.iahgames.com

I tried out the CBT in March and what I really dig about it is that you can control 3 characters at one time. Kindda like FF8 but it's an MMORPG. It makes training so fun somehow. Keeps your hands busy all the time. And the second thing I like about it is that you can recruit NPCs in the game. Really reminds me of a console game merged into an MMORPG.

I'm downloading the client now and eagerly awaiting the POBT. 1 weeek more!!!

IMHO.. you're in the same position a lot of other people are in, keep an eye on upcoming betas and games.

There is really not anything available that can offer everything you are looking for in a single package and that you haven't played already.

It's funny you should say Granda Espana required your hands to be busy, I found just the opposite and that's what turned me off. I made my group of 3 (I saw very few fighters, mostpeople took ranged characters) and just moved to a dungeon room with fast spawning monsters and hit spacebar to have the characters auto-fight. If a monster spawned close enought hey'd rush over and kill it. All I had to do was occasionally click on an area to have them collect loot. I found as my characters got higher and higher the grind became far mroe obvious, I think I found maybe 8 quests between levels 1 and 32 and was limited to only abouyt 3 zones for my level range I could "grind" in by hitting spacebar. Ultimatly it felt like as the grind with each level got longer I'd be afk more often letting my characters level themselves. I played the game for a few weeks but ultimatly lost interest in running it so it could play itself.

SWG (pre-Cu or pre NGE for that matter ) would be your best bet... alas it does not exist anymore

something that exists now and that describes 7/8 of your points is guild wars... (the crafting is what is not there) but you already played it. i would give it more than a month see how far you get to in a guild or pvp events... i say give it  asecond chance.

(you have my Xfire you can add me) just tell me your from mmorpg.

I generally run a small group of 3-7 of my friends that will play but a key point in that is the crafting.  I supply my entire party with all they need and the other collateral to get through the day that was why I never made it to far in guild wars because of the lack of crafting.

My play week normally fits to about 20-40 hours of in game time unless there’s nothing that I like.

As for CoH I just got the download started and will get on again either tonight or tomorrow.

And as for SWG that is still (before the patch) the best I've had I played from day one and the combat was a bit weak but as for the adventure, the crafting, and the social genius of the game I haven’t found anything to match it.

btw will that game be free to play? or pay to play? it says nowhere on the site  Its 10$ a month plus they have an item mall, and it might cost money to buy the initial game as well.  Pretty much a rip off, especially considering other countrys get to play it for free with only an item mall.

There will probably be private servers though so you may wanna check those out especially considering the vast overflow of people who are technically allowed to "bot" their characters.
