Every day someone posts some kind of list.

When will you guys figure it out.. no one cares.  If you want to talk about something significant, you talk about how WoW is still on that list after 2+ years.  Now thats saying something.

Look again in 2 months, and you'll not find LOTRO topping any list.  Seriously... this is what.. 2nd week of retail?

They deserve it. It seems all their MMO experience is paying off. This game is going to be bigger then WoW.

Very unlikely, See WoW is at number 3 and its been sitting around the top 10 spot for a long time now, In MMO terms its a giant, but still an odd ball, but I dout we will ever get numbers like that again. (When WoW launched you couldn't even get a copy remember)

Still turbine should be proud that there MMO is at the top of the sales charts and I'd hope to see a respectable number out there.

Don't underestimate the power of Lord of the Rings franchise. WoW is going downhill and people will be looking for something new.

if lotro stays at the top10 list for 2+ years long, yes, it might get near wow sales/players number.

I don't under estimate the Tolkin franchice at all, the family has made a lot of money from selling on the LotR name to a lot of comapnys, however I can not see every single player giving up there years or work on WoW to move to a new MMO to start again, I have no dout this game will be a sucsessful, but in therms of 8 million number? Thats a tall order.

Hell I play the game and know how good it can be (When EU servers don't crash and die) I'm so impressed with my story so far its deep and enriching, probably the most well written I've played too.

But theres already a few peoples thoughts on the game and its good over all but not enought o get them drawn in.

Just a small correction, the Tolkien family dont really get anything, they dont have the rights to the books released by Tolkien anymore, Tolkien Enterprises does. The Tolkien Estate only have the rights to the books released by Cristopher Tolkien, Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales and so on, and they have never given any company the right to use those book.
