Blundering Bush makes ANOTHER gaffe as he winks at the Queen

When you've just made it sound like the Queen is more than 200 years old, there may be a few ways of recovering from the gaffe.

But turning to her and giving her a sly wink is probably not included in any book of royal etiquette.

Scroll down for more...

bush wink

Is he winking at One? The President turns to the Queen and winks after his slip-up

unamused queen

The Queen received the wink with a frosty glare

We have the best president...

OH MY GOD HE WINKED AT A MONARCH WHO HOLDS ABSOLUTELY NO REAL POWER IN THE COUNTRY THAT SHE IS QUEEN OF!!!  HANG HIM!!

It's absolutley retarded that anybody is making a big deal of this...we all know he sucks at speaking, so who gives a crap if he winks at some old lady?  How is this news?

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

So now if he screws up it's ok because he's not very good at speaking anyways? If we get a president or if there is a candidate who is very good at speaking but screws up one day then he probably meant it and should be condemned?

  • I high-fived the queen once when I visited England. They threw me in the tower of london for a week, they even made me part of the tour.

The lesson? Don't treat the queen of england like one of the boys. Those Beefeaters at the tower get real testy about that.

lol i love when he stuffs up cause it means i get to have a go at him for being so retarted. you know next he'll get so nervous he hits the little red button and start a nuke war. what would have been funnier is if the queen turned around and slapped him real hard in the face, now that would have been hilarious. i feel sorry for americans for having such a gay president. and feel sorry for myself cause my prime minster is bushes friend, i think they like each other so much cause their faces are so ugly they don't notice.

lol george bush is so easy to make fun of.

I'm with Draenor on this one. Wish they would just get with the program and give her a nice retirement chateau, turn the palace into a money-making museum to fund public works and healthcare, and put the real person in charge out front. The Queen is not the one in power, and should not be the one talking to our President in the first place.

Edit: It also appears more as if he's squinting against the sun than winking.

I think it woulda been funnier if George pulled down his pants, and did a helicopter in front of the queen, now that woulda been news.

...pics snipped. I am stealing the second one, though. Mwahahaha!

My mom used to make the very same face as the queen in the second photo. It usually came right before a spanking.

This President has been almost as much fun as Dan Quayle, but I am looking forward to the next clown brigade to be elected in 2008. New jokes, new props, and maybe a whole new set on the stage!

A helicopter can't fly with a small rotor.

She's so old, I'm surprised she's not dead yet.  She must really not want her son to be king.

I remember when I was little I always wanted to send a letter to the Queen so she could send me on an epic quest, where at the end I would be knighted. Then my Dad told me she was as real as Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect.

Way to completely miss the point.

Who gives a shit what Bush does to some inconsiquential monarch?  He didn't friggen punch the woman or do anything illegal.  She has no power whatsoever, and the only reason anybody is even talking about this is because he's George Bush.  I guarentee if somebody like John Kerry or Edwards did this, you would all be sitting there making up excuses like "oh he wasn't really talking about the queen, he was making a joke about Bush" or some lame shit like that.

This isn't a big deal, stop making it a big deal...it's not even that funny...if this were a democrat would "comedy ensue" ?  Hell no, you would all be working to cover your own asses.  So how about you jump off the "let's attack everything Bush does" bandwagon and look at this with a little bit more perspective, you bunch of hypocrites.

If it was a Democrat I gaurantee that you would attack him for it. That's all i'm saying.

If she is so unimportant, why do so many american tourists clog up london in swarms to visit the palace?

Does she have any 'power'? no, but her opinion/patronage can sway public views on a subject or situation.

Whether I agree this is right is an entirely seperate thread of its own :)

On the flipside Bush's 'gaff' pales to nothing compared to the racist nonsense her husband has spouted in numerous 'diplomatic' visits over the past decades.

Google 'Prince Philip' and 'blunders'... it's a laugh-a-minute.

PS: Draenor, get some sleep, you seem overly grouchy today.

He is an (elected!) representative of his people.

She is a reresentative of her people and of almost a millenium of history and culture.

They should both behave and try to embody the best their people have to offer. Simple.
