    well id have to say titan quest, although you have to buy the game,but no monthly fees. The game is very fun and very diablo-like. Although there is performance issues, that could only be solved by me installing the expansion pack. Anyways look it up,

    the demo is very slow on my comp.

    dream mastery seems to be 1 # & casters rule.

    Might try these, Sacred can be bought for 10.00 in a jewel case special. Titan Quest is 20.00 and the expansion is around 30.00.  Dungeon Seige 1 is 10.00 in jewel case special. Dungeon Seige 2 is around 20.00 to 30.00.

    Dungeon runners isnt really a diablo clone, they dont know what a good game is supposed to be and hide behind the fact that its supposed to be "casual".

    DS is only 8 players @ once & D2 is easier to find games?

    Neverwinter Nights is a must play if you're into something a bit more involving than diablo. Not free obviously, but should be possible to get really cheap. There are a lot of servers for it which try to create a "persistent" feel. Tons of play hours if you get the expansions and dabble into usermade stuff.

    Not everyone likes nwn, as they feel it's more slow-paced and "strategic", while diablo is faster and "action packed".



    Other than that, I'll second Sacred and Dungeon Siege. I've had a lot of fun with DS2, and played through it 4 times with my friend. The special attacks in DS2 are probably some of the most satisfying I've ever experienced in an RPG. I find myself wanting to play it again *just* to gib stuff with the specials.





    As for mmo's and stuff.. I really don't know. Especially free ones. Did you check out that "list of free mmo's" sticky in this forum?

    nwn is slower, not as many people, graphics very dated.

    & some comps can't handle it?  my comp, the game freezes sometimes.
