No offense, but not a lot of people here seem acquainted with Flickr, what with the phishing accusations and all.
Thats fine, I just found that stretching it out let me look at the smaller details more easily.
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee. Hemingway
Near as I can gather, the romanized verion of the Hebrew part is KNIHALHIM, or KNIHOLHIM. Now, those could be wrong, as I don't read a lick of Hebrew, and some of the symbols are, at least to me, somewhat similar.
Not much luck on getting the meaning of the word in English, so far.
I've come to the conclusion that this thread is a hype thread for a new game in which the OP is either a marketer (viral marking) or a developer of the game and we've helped push this new game title of his. Congrads OP, it was a really neat idea!
As fun as this is, I really wish you folks wouldn't feed the viral marketers. The credibility of the Internet is already at an all time low, we don't need to push it any lower.

I looked at the Hebrew, and the Hebrew phrasing is written the ancient way, without any vowels.
But what I can se is BNy(I belive its the root BNC) Aleph LHM. Which you are close to correct with the final analysis, although I THINK its B not K. Anyway...
The final part of the word is Elohim, (IE: GOD). It is the PLURAL form of the ONE TRUE GOD, according to the Hebrews, but oddly enough, was always written in plural even though they believed in only ONE God. It was rarely used in reference to other pagan gods, as the Hebrews saw it.
The first part is BNC (I BELIEVE). I'm on MUCH MORE shakey ground on this. But I THINK the root is BNC, or Banach. To create. Either, the phrase says God created, or created God. Considering the controversial and "to soon for us poor mere humans to handle 'the truth'" nature of the email, and other things, I'm ASSUMING that its saying that God was created....

Yeah, upon finding a site for Hebrew with a better font, the first symbol is a B, not KH. It also pointed out that Aleph is silent, so I'm assuming it acts as a space in this instance.
Looks like I should add Hebrew to the list of old languages to learn before I die.
What we have so far: -near the symbol for infinity, in French, are the statements: What wants (something) to say? Who are the eight? -Phrases on the page, as near as I can make them out, open for more... experienced translation: "Amundsen faut det under isen" "Qu'est e que ca veut dire?" "Qui sont les herts?" "Etwas uber einen 'Krieg der fiusternes'" "De que maners eston unreuerades les Illuminate?"
I don't know what this is, the content of the image, or what it "really" relates to, but I'll still had a clarification on the text seen in French.
Just after the symbol of infinity, the French phrases are:
Qu'est ce que ça veut dire?
Qui sont les Huits?
They translate into:
What does it mean?
Who are the Eights?
And I want to precise that:
- when we say "qu'est ce" in French, we need to put a hypen between "qu'est" and "ce" resulting in "qu'est-ce"; it is a mistake that fluent French speakers shouldn't make and usually don't make
- "Huits" is starting with a capital H meaning that the Eights is a named group of "persons", or beings...
- lastly, I don't know why I "wasted" my time to write this; maybe the fantasy... yes, the fantasy...
I got the letters XPIST from the picture of those two men riding a horse or w.e it is

"The script used to be called "The Dark", but it's now called "The Dark Places", and I've even gone to the step of registering a website called (drumroll, please!) www.thedarkplaces.com. Nice, innit? Except there's nothing there. Yet. There will be something there soon, though, honest.
Both thedarkplaces.com and thehiddenplaces.com are part of my work on an entire universe of stories that will hopefully carry over into my games as well -- post-Midgard, of course, as that game is a universe unto itself...based on Norse mythology, yes, but still its own entity. So to speak."
I went to his homepage, and it looks like he is associated with Dreamfall or something. "Dreamfall" is the name of his blog category that he posts in the most.
So yeah, it could be just talking about Dreamfall Chapters.
Or maybe they stole this dudes screen play and made game out of it. Then they made him shut down his site, and out of anger from how they stole his screen play, he is trying to scare people into boycotting the game.
Or maybe this dude is the main developer for Dreamfall. I know nothing about the games or the person, so it is possible. That would mean this is probably just a marketing strategy.
This all must have been said before because it sounds to familiar.
EDIT: Yeah, found him in Wikipedia, looks like he probably has a bit o' power over at Funcom.
EDIT AGAIN: Hmm, found a problem with the connection... Dreamfall takes place in 2219, well after the date 2012 on the paper, the supposed end of the world. So it probably isn't a Dreamfall sequel campaign, but it could go with the other game.

Just a little correction: its not "Amundsen faut det undet isen", but "Amundsen faNt det under isen". I means Amundsen (a norwegian, the first on the south pole) found it under the ice. What i found, I dont know.

after clicking on 4 points in flash player, I found the following.
4 icon types. 3 of each type. Of each type, the icons appear all the same, but for very subtle changes in design (a piece missing, or lines do not match perfectly). 4 total icons will fit around circles edge by click/dragging. Then you can turn each one set on the circle to the right.
Appears to be some type of "lock", though I have not found the right combination of icons that do anything other than just turn on their axis when set onto circle
ok i have put in the dragon eating the snake, the stick with flowers around it and the snake enveloping arrows and the symbol have started flashing more frequently so im getting there but i can't find where the last light is for the symbols any hints?

You are correct so far. Place them like this around the circle:
After matching up the 4 different icons in their respective places, and turning them to a set position, it allows access to a screen with 3 preview art concepts, with timers others more to be released in the near future, and a portal link to forums for an apparently upcoming game "Cry Gaia - Dark Days Are Coming".
On a side note, I don't want to give away the icon puzzle as some may want to complete it on their own, but if you really must have it, pm me.

A little something to work with on the anagram part...
Here's a listing of ALL possible combinations of the anagram:
http://wordsmith.org/anagram/anagram.cgi?anagram=A+grim+odd+arcane+sky
Here's a listing of combinations of the anagram with the letters C, O, and M removed (as one suggested it being a .com URL):
http://wordsmith.org/anagram/anagram.cgi?anagram=A+gri+dd+arane+sky
The next listing (still excluding C, O, and M) is further filtered to always include the word "days" (just a hunch):
http://wordsmith.org/anagram/anagram.cgi?anagram=A+gri+dd+arane+sky&include=days
(caught an interesting, but probably unrelated anagram: DAYS A DARK REIGN)
Both lists are long, and I did only a quick scan. Also, lots of other possibilities with the advanced feature on that site.
(To all tinfoil hatters: don't worry about the links, they're not phishing attempts, either.)
Better to use the Flickr link to the original image (768x1024 resolution, non-stretched): http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=482500489&size=o

The upper left is Spanish.
De que manera est
I think the most telling anagram I found was Ragnarok diced yams. Clearly an ad for canned rams from Scandanavia...

A Google search for "thehiddenplaces" returns very little. A 2001 blog from http://www.ragnartornquist.com/ and a few domain sites saying the thehiddenplaces.com was dropped early on 2007 (Some say January, some say February.). The old blog post was about a screen play. Here is a chunk of it (http://ragnartornquist.com/blogger/2001/08/i-returned-to-my-last-screenplay-this.html):

Hello there, adventurer!
By clicking those links, did I just get fucked?

It also seems we were some of the first people to get it, wewt for us.
But... Someone over at VE3D Boards got it yesterday. Oh well.
And... http://kotaku.com/gaming/tattoo-assassins-online/funcom-teases-new-game-cry-gaia-258828.php also got it. (warning, it shows the answer to the puzzle)
Well, good job y'all.
EDIT: Looks like the board was created today, so we still are on the early end of those who found it.
