It's a given that a StarCraft game will be announced (It's Korea). The question is: MMORPG, MMOFPS, or MMORTS?
I'm more then positive it will be an MMORPG of some sort. WoW will not last forever and they want to be able to keep making the money they are making now, so they have to go with the second biggest name. I would also like to believe that it will be PVP-centric instead of WoW's PVE since they could continue WoW for the people who love PVE and gain the wandering players looking for a hardcore PVP game (Although other games might challenge that, so it could really go either way).
What I would like to see for it is an MMOFPS/RTS, but I honestly have no idea how they would go about that. I suppose they could do something like Natural Selection, the HL Mod, and pump it up...They would need to change a majority of the gameplay of course, but I was just referring to the basics of the game...
I would almost bet a year's salary that Blizzard will make a Diablo or Starcraft MMO-something. The opportunity to makes millions more $$$$ is too good for any fool to pass up.
People will get tired of WoW at one point or another look for another MMO. Also I think Diablo would be different than WoW because Warcraft was about faction wars, while Diablo is not. The focus on pvp might be lessened and class balancing might be easier. That's just my take on it. Now Starcraft...who knows.
I doubt it. I really think it's gonna be starcraft 2 ..... gotfrag.com reported a close source to them leaked it would be SC2.... gotfrag is pretty reliable....
Well I know that Blizzard has been working on something for quite a while. I've read numerous articles on how they are hiring programmers and designers. Some of the people working on Starcraft and Diablo 2 (sorry I don't have links or I would post them here).
Any Starcraft game IMO would be a good thing. The gaming market is rather saturated with fantasy type games right now and some scifi would be a refreshing change. IF they did make World of Starcraft, they could easily do what SOE does and offer a discounted payment plan for both games, such as $15 for one or $25 for both monthly. I guarantee that many existing WoW players would jump on that.
Not to mention the few people out there who haven't played WoW yet would probably give WoW a try after they leveled up their Protoss Zealot.
Well, I hope blizzard does something. If it is an MMO, than awesome, if it is RTS, just as cool. I just hope they do something, because im getting tired of WoW.

I think that the anouncement will be Starcraft 2, considering it's in Korea where they have national rts tournaments. To make an mmo anouncement over rts probably wouldn't make that much sense.

well i kinda want an mmo but the chances are itll just be reskined wow which i cant be arsed with. i hope its not an RTS as not even starcaft 2 can be remotly as good as company of heroes or im sure its upcomming expansion.

CoH is a darn good RTS, as long as you are into that specific genre though...the war simulator. I found that game oddly immersive for a RTS....the video cutscenes probably had a lot to do with that though.
C&C3 takes the video scenes to another level, but for whatever reason I found myself feeling like I was closer to the battle in CoH.
well if they go ahead with an mmo, please, please, please,(Multiply by NINE THOOOOUUSSAND) do it skilled based instead of level based. Im bored out of my mind with the leveling and want a fresh change in how i advance.(Ex-SWG vet so you see why )

Actually SC was my first game i played online and was insanly addicted to with my friends until we all got broadband and moved to bigger and better things. WC3 was good as well, not as good as SC in my opinion, the unit cap spoiled it for me but those RTS have been and gone and if an sc2 came out i find it extremely difficult think it vcan better company of heroes, the mechanics in the game alone as amazing nevermind how personal it gets with every soilder in the game, a new age of rts has been born cause that game and i doubt even blizzard can crack it.

As much as I would love MMOFPS I just don't see it happening... It would be good, it would sell nice... but nowhere near as good as MMORPG.
