Ghost in the Shell obviously is right up there but oddly enough one of my favorites that I always go back to is The Last Vampire, I just love that movie.
Did someone say Gundam Seed? I found that boring. Samurai Champloo is my favorite of all time at the moment. When you start downloading soundtracks, wallpapers, etc. you know it's up there. That is followed by Cowboy Bebop, Gundam Wing and a few others.
"I used to think the worst thing in life was to be all alone. It's not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel all alone." Robin Williams
Anyone ever seen ELFEN LIED ? That's got to be my favorite. Mind you it's not for the faint of heart. Its a dark and violent anime, but is balanced with a sense of innocense. Crazy anime thats plays emotional tricks on your mind.
Dragonball? Pokemon? Seriously, you're such a 10 yo! Why not explore your anime options, dragonball was good to start like 10 years ago, but come on. Plus another one of my favorites is SAMURAI CHAMPLOO! And TRIGUN is a classic!
Not really, the thread title is your favorite anime of all time, not your current favorite anime. I loved Dragonball and Pokémon when I was a kid, when I still watched animated cartoons.
I used to like Pokemon and DBZ when I was younger, but now im into Fullmetal Alchemist. Its a "grown-ups" anime, people under 16 wouldnt understand this shit.
"There's no star system Slave I can't reach, and there's no planet I can't find. There's nowhere in the Galaxy for you to run. Might as well give up now." Boba Fett
Well it depends on what I'm in the mood for. When it comes to fights I would say hands down DBZ was the best even though it would take a century for a fight to be over.
As far as storyline I would go with Cowboy Bebop. Most of the episodes where writen very well and had depth by going into the background of each of the main characters and how they came together and finally went their seperate ways.
Probaly Mushishi or the Kenshin OVA Reminisence. Followed by FMA, HxH, Cowboy Bebop.
Regarding Death Note... Hmm, the anime aint that great compared to the manga, the movies are even worse. I only liked the first part of Death Note aswell.
Not sure if it is considered anime but my favorate is Ninja Scroll. Every other anime starts off cool then gets really absurdly weird. Why do they have to get so silly halfway through?
Don't say it is because I do not like science fiction or cyberpunk. I love science fiction and cyberpunk. I just do not like fantastical plot twists for no rhymn or reason to back it up.
I'm sorry guys, but bashing the guy saying "dragon ball, pokemon" and then mentioning Hunter X hunter, Trigun or whatever other kiddy anime just because they didnt show on TV is ridiculous.
Also, saying FMA wouldnt be understood by people under 16yo is laughable... the characters are all EMO beyond reason, and extremely annoying to follow trough the whole story.
Also i'm extremely surprised only 1 person mentioned the best anime ever: Cowboy Bebop

It's a toss up between Serial Experiments: Lain, Ghost in the Shell 1, 2 and/or SAC and pretty much anything put out by Studio Ghibli.

Hunter X Hunter FTW!
So much character depth and so unpredictable the way things turn out. The first few eps can get a bit slow though. After that, it's so darn addictive!
