D&D Online 10 day trial? Question

SpellforgedSpellforged Member UncommonPosts: 458

I downloaded the game.

Got my free trial key.

Added the key to my turbine account.

They need a credit card number to activate the trial?

I read their ToS and saw this ..

"YOU ARE FULLY LIABLE FOR ALL CHARGES TO YOUR ACCOUNT, INCLUDING ANY UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES."

Why do they need a credit card number and will they charge anything to it?  I'm just wondering if any of you have tried this trial and were you charged? Do they charge you after the 10 days?

It is to deter gold farmers and sellers. You won't be charged anything unless you decide to carry on after the 10 days.

You must not leave until you free Arlos and have gathered your party safely in this hallway.

I left my account waiting on that page for a while until I got a response to this thread. After entering all the need info and submitting it just went back to the login screen and now when I try to sign up again to activate the trial it keeps giving me some error message.. o_0

Will it let you use a credit card even if the card is over the limit?

I didn't try using one over the limit (I don't have one over the limit, thank gods) but unlike some games where you have to manually cancel during the trial or it will automatically subscribe you, Turbine does not. When the trial is over, it's over, and it never touches your card.

The trial used to not require a card at all, but we had a huge influx of platinum farmers spamming everyone with hundreds of random accounts, so this is a deterrent. A fine example of the good people having to suffer because of a few bad apples ruining things.

    Hello there,

I´m really new to this forum and want to test DDO. I get the trial key and I know where to donwload the DDO-Client via Fileplanet.

Now my question, I registered to Fileplanet but cannot download the file because they say I´m not subscribed!?

I don´t want to pay $6,95 for one month of membership. Am I blind oder dumb or did I get something wrong?!

By the way, I´m from Germany and perhaps it´s my lack of understanding...?!

    Thanks.

You're looking at the Fileplanet subscriber servers. Keep scrolling down and you'll see another list of servers for non-subscribers. The free servers may have a queue to get in; the list will tell you the estimated wait time if so.

Or just go to the DDO page and click on the free trial button on the bottom left.

Just to be doubly-sure - once trial activates - cancel the subscription. You can play till the trial ends and the card will not be charged. :)

Nothing to cancel, when you sign up for the Trial, it creates only a trial membership. When you check your account, it lists the expiration date right there. You have to enter a new "retail" product code to upgrade the membership before there's anything to cancel.

    Thanks! Thanks! Thanks a lot!

I didn´t get the meaning regarding theses links!

And thanks for the information that I do not need to cancel my subscription!

By the way, I´m playing DnD pen and paper and there the clerics have devine domains. I didn´t find those in the class descriptions! Any information about that?
