Questions about the game.

I have been browsing through many forums, and I must say that i have seen alot of topics about Guild Wars. Many say it is fun, and i want to try it. I have a couple questions though.

1). When you finish the "chapter" what do you do? I mean like once you get to the max level, I believe it is 20 do you just walk around and wait until you buy the next chapter.

2). If i were to buy Guild Wars (the first one) would there still be many people playing on that edition, because since there is 3 many would probably be moving on?

3) if i were to play on, lets say Guild Wars Faction, I wouldnt be able to play or talk with people from like NightFall?

4) I am currently playing MS (maple story) if any of you play it as well, do you recommend this game over that? To those of you who dont play Maplestory, Do you recommend this game at all?

5) Do you believe I should just wait  until Guild Wars 2?

6). Last but not  least,  I  really want to try this game before I buy it, If any of you have a, I think it is called "buddy key" or trail key, may you please send it to me, my email is (filipnoy92@yahoo.com) . Please I really want to try this game.

1.) When you finish a chapter's content you can keep playing the PvP part which is it's own game in itself. The PvE content however is prety massive too. If you are used to playing 10 hours a day  you should zip through it pretty fast though. Considering however that gameplay is never stretched out by repetitive level grinding the content of GW can easily compare with normal MMoRPGs.

2.) Yes, the first chapter stil has a massive amount of people since it's still considered to be the core game. I was among the christmas noob flood and it was like the first chapter has just been released.

3.) Only the ones who are in the same guild as you. Since you can't enter the new continents however you can't talk to normal players. They can, however still visit you on the continent you are playing on if they own this chapter.

4.) No offense but comparing the two would be like comparing a jumbo to a wet paperplane. Korean games like Maple Story are mostly low budget products which explains their price. The same isn't true for GW. I was surprised myself about how much work is being put into this game even without monthly fees.

5.) Tough one. You could wait I guess but there's nothing wrong with getting GW1 anyway. Support for the game is still massive so I doubt they're going  to shut down the servers anytime soon so there  isn't much to worry about.

One thing though: If you are expecting a traditional MMoRPG just without monthly fees then chances are you won't like it. GW is  much more the true successor of Diablo 2 rather than a WoW without monthly fees in my opinion. It's just that the world and its content is large enough to pass as an MMoRPG. Still a great RPG to try unless you really love grinding levels for hours without doing anything else cause you  won't find that here.

I agree with the other guy on everything except for you question number 3. You see, lets say you buy factions. (like I did) there was a special event where you could go into Kamadan (a place in nightfall) to do some winter things. I did that with my factions character, and now I can play nightfall stuff on him even though I didn't own it at the time. (i have all 3 now). I suggest you start off with factions, then once you get into pvping buy nightfall. If you do that you'll have all the core skills, plus some good pvp ones from nightfall. Should you wish to get the full experience, buy prophicies. I hope this helps.

If you complete a chapter you can now choose to play it again in Hardmode but if you have completed the chapter you can always look for elites to cap, do pvp, look for new armour sets or god forbid help someone else with their missions.

Let me put it this way: if you want to switch from free-to-play to high-quality games, but don't want to break the bank, Guild Wars is definitely the way to go.

    5) Do you believe I should just wait until Guild Wars 2?

That would be quite a long wait if you did. Besides, the Guild Wars community is still very active, not to mention anticipating an expansion later this year. ;)

there are PLENTY of stuff you can do, there are titles, armour hunting even if the best armour costs nothing to get you can get a better LOOKING armour that is more expensive, that will show your good and that will make people say NICE armour... (i categorize them as 3 sets of armour) 1 you can get for cheap throughout the game 2 same stats as teh cheap one but nicer looking and 3 rare armour that you get in very hard instances that you cant solo or its extremely hard to do with henchmen. then you can PvP (GvG 1V1 4V4team 4V4 random, Hero Challengeladder , Hall of Heroes, and many challenges. you can find all skills, you can capture all elite skills, lets just say ive had my lvl 20 R/Mo since beta and every time i log in i have something to do, you can also get all professions. as your secondary with all your skills. you can get titles. you can do HardMode, you can make your own Guild and manage it, which takes time/gold/faction/patience

2). If i were to buy Guild Wars (the first one) would there still be many people playing on that edition, because since there is 3 many would probably be moving on?

i have all 3 and i still play in prophecies, and there is quite alot of people there.  there is less people in factions but more in nightfall. but there are many nonetheless.

    3) if i were to play on, lets say Guild Wars Faction, I wouldnt be able to play or talk with people from like NightFall?

yes you can communicate with anyone anywhere, although i am not sure if you can use factions or nightfall weapons if you have prophecies only. (i got each game the day it came out.) i would also not recomend you start with factions... i would recomend nightfall or prophecies (mostly prophecies... since it is the basis of the game.

    4) I am currently playing MS (maple story) if any of you play it as well, do you recommend this game over that? To those of you who dont play Maplestory, Do you recommend this game at all?

    sry never played maple story

    5) Do you believe I should just wait  until Guild Wars 2?

like some one else said, its a long way to go, (second half of 2008) and hollyday of 2007 there is an GW expansion (which requires you to have 1 of the original 3 to play. IMO i recomend you start with prophecies. longer storyline and by the time you are finished with the story it is where it begins...  you wil be a pro at the game and will even know tricks of the trade

i can look for mine cuz i know i havent given my factions or nightfall yet... contact me throu MMORPG internal mail thing to remind me to look tonight when i get home from work.
