CoH or CoV?

ZalaberZalaber Member Posts: 104
I had CoH when it first came out.  I stopped it when I moved, but now I'm back and there's CoV.  My question is which should play? I still have all my discs for CoH, or is it worth buying CoV? Would you recomend just not going for either and getting WoW or another game? If CoH or CoV is the best choice, can you tell me why, recent changes to the games and bonuses over other games? Thanx!

    I'd pick up villains for two reasons. One you can add it to your hero's account for one monthly fee and two you get a free month with it so basically you are paying 15 dollars for villains and 15 for access to COH/COV.  When I play I have most my toons on the hero side but villains adds the supergroup bases to the hero side and a bunch of extras costume wise(literally doubles what you can choose from on either side).  So yeah if you're coming back pick up villains and enjoy both for one price.

    I'm going to get the Good v Evil package soon, is there any expansion packs I should get with them?

    I would say the good vs evil edition also, ya get a nifty jump pack and two extra costume choices fer it.

    Well...the jump pack is nice, and as long as you're an item-who...sit like me, the costumes look spiffy!

    CoV was the only boxed expansion, and these days thanks to Good vs. Evil it's bundled with CoH anyway. All the other expansions were free. This means a bit of work for the updater software to do when you first connect, but nothing else to buy.

    In keeping with a very alt-friendly game, most people have several of both heroes and villains. So not only is it not an either/or from a purchase standpoint, you don't have to really choose one or the other for play, either.

    It's a good time to come back. Enjoy!

    If the nerfs are not hard on you, pick CoH.

    If the nerfs are bad on you, pick CoV.

    By all mean, feel free to play both, you will naturally be drawn more to a side...the other side will become the enemy!

    I think you only get 1 free month with Good vs Evil...getting CoH alone would get you a free month...getting CoV alone would give you another free month.

    However, GvE might be cheaper then CoH + CoV...and it gives some badges I think...

    Um, just my opinion, but don't get the Good Versus Evil edition if you already have CoH.  You can pick up CoV by itself discounted for 10 dollars or less in the US at Compusa, Bestbuy, Circuit City or Microcenter.  Buying CoV for that price upgrades your CoH account to both and you get the free month(a 15 dollar value for 10 dollars).

    The GvE edition is worthwhile if you're new to the game and can't pick up the separate boxes on the cheap (for 2 months free) or just really want the 2 special powers.

    Note: I didn't vote because once you subscribe, you have access to both.  My recommendation is to play CoX ( ' ;
