Do you guys see the difference. I wonder how the graphics will look when DX10 comes into play. HMMMMMMMMM.

I can't say I have heard anything about LotRo and DirectX10.  I would love to see LotRO in a DirectX10 format.

Being a major graphics geek myself, that sort of stuff makes me drool.  *wipes chin with napkin.  Can't imagine LotRO graphics looking better than they already do, but, its possible.

Lets hope there will be a compatable version with DX10,

I am in for the graphics myself, so i would get vista in a moment if it would not be

some compatability issues with software and hardware atm.

Seeing LOTRO with that screenshot is great, hopefully (if they continue with it) it wil come out rather sooner then later then.

That is exactly how I feel.  I picked up a DirectX10 compatible video card but have yet to jump on that "VISTA" bandwagon.

I have been holding off on a DX 10 card for a couple of reasons. I can run LoTRO in very high settings with my  7900GT and it looks good, waiting on AMD/ATI to release a R600 card for competition with the  8000 series, and  waiting on Vista to overcome it's teething pains. If LoTRO support DX 10 then fine, but if it takes a while I am pretty happy with the graphics just as they are.

I agree with this completely....and to be honest, at this point in time (From a gaming perspective) a DirectX10 card is useless.  Might as well wait until the games start rolling out, at which point in time I'm sure the video cards will be less expensive than they are now.

Well I guess we won't know until the DX10 patch is release for LOTRO. Once that happens i'll post new new pictures again this topic. I'm thinking of doing an SLI for my tower.

They've mentioned it a few times in Dev Chats over the course of early closed beta that they were already working on a DX10 client and it's expected out towards the end of the year.  Hopefully that holds true, whole reason I bought an 8800GTX was for games like this on DX10.  They'll be able to increase object draw distance by a ton...

I don't know if that's necessary.  The way they've done the dummy objects and skymaps makes it seem like there is always stuff around you anyway.

I'm jealous :(  My PC wont do the very high res.  Though, I'll find a nice place to take a picture, bump them all to supreme max and take a screen shot, then wait 10 minutes as I try to bump them back to runnable again LOL.  The graphics of this game are amazing.  They are just super at my level  (Just high).  Though, I have a large draw distance as, like previously stated by someone else, i like to see what's coming :)  Even if it's a unrecognizable standing up triangle lol.

That is very good news.  I was purchased a EVGA 8800GTS 640mb superclocked, like you, for gaming purposes.   EVGA has a step up program where you have 90 days to trade in your  card and get full credit towards a better one.  I have yet to run into a game that I can't run at max settings, but, everything is DirectX 9c.  It seems I need to make a decision soon as to what I'm gonna do with it.  For a couple hundred more bucks I can be sporting a superclocked 8800 GTX.  Do you run windows xp or vista?

I am still fence sitting on the 8800 series, every time I get ready to buy one I talk myself out of it. LoTRO runs fine on my 7900GT and so does almost every other game that I have so I just watch the prices and keep holding off. I had almost talked myself into a EVGA 8800 GTS  Superclocked this weekend $349 USD after rebate. www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx

Just can't persuade myself to part with the money yet. Also holding off because Vista still is not up to snuff in my opinion. No DX 10 without Vista.

I have a HUGE widescreen monitor...geforce 7900GT only lets me play on high settings because of my monitor size. It could also be because of vista, but I think my monitor is like 24 or 26 inches or so. Geforce 8800s are good if you have a huge monitor like I do.
