Hi, I'm just wondering if WoW is worth the money your paying for it...I'm thinking about getting it but i'm not sure if i should...Is it fun? Is it action filled? Will the game keep me company for years.... Friendly people....You prolly know what i mean >.<

Otherwise, if you've never played it, there is a wealth of entertainment in WoW.
I am one of the millions who "Have played since beta day 1!" (Am I right? Everyone played the open beta it seems)
I found myself reactivating my account two days ago after 3 months of inactivity. The roller coaster nerfs, and the dissapointing gameplay of Burning Crusade took its toll.
So, fast forward to today where I am regretting giving Blizzard 15 more bucks. Re-cancelled my account after 2 solid days of trying to get back into the swing of things. It's just no longer fun.
To answer your question however, yes it is worth it. It took me 2 years to get burnt out, so I consider that successful. It is the best MMORPG that is currently out and not in beta.
So, if you have an older computer, grab WoW. If you have a high/ultra high end computer, play Supreme Commander until the next-gen MMORPG's hit. (That's what I'm doing anyway)
I check my email everyday looking for my beta invites to AOC, Rasa, and any further news on WAR.
P.S. Friendly people? If you like 12 year old geeks who finally have their chance to express the inner-rage that has accumulated through pixelated characters and glorified chat rooms. Get in a guild (mature guild) asap to keep from dealing with the unbelievable amount of immaturity in this game. In WoW's defense, when you get that many people to buy a game, it's gonna happen.
Ahh, I see you play BF2 as well. Have you tried 2142?
Eve too eh? If you have grown accustomed to the mature playerbase on Eve, you will hate WoW for its simplicity and ease of access from any child in most major countries.
I miss Eve from time to time, but found it to be too much like a real life job. "Haul 50mil units ot trit 6 jumps away through zerosec, and then when you're done, we're going to need you to head up a mining operation since you were stupid enough to train mining foreman V. Oh yeah, go fuel up the POS before you go to sleep. Thanks!" -Your corporation loves you.
Ok...Thanks for your responce man...I think i'll be sure to get it.....i guess =O
Edit: Ok nvm about WoW then lol :P I find eve kind of...slow pace on my side but i play lvl 4 missions with friends from time to time :P....I just got bf2 and...well i'm kind of a nub in there :P, Heard hype about bf2142 and people say it sucks so....nah =D
WoW is worth it. It is a finished product, well polished and with lots of love and dedication into it. You might not like it for gameplay philosophies or whatnot, but playing WoW will make you understand what a big company can do when they stick to the game and release it "only when it is done"!
It will give you a fair meter of comparisons for most other titles in regard of quality.

I've played the game "since beta day 1" and enjoyed it all the way to TBC. Regarding why I quit:
"I quit around 1-2 months ago, mostly because of boredome. The reason behind that I quit was a non-stop session of playing since the beta. After sitting and playing the same game for 2 years (and some more) I grew tired of it, seeing the same thing over and over. What kept me playing was that I was in a nice raiding guild, which also had some of the nicest players I've ever met.
So I really played the game for the raids, but then TBC came. For me it just felt like an endless farm to get to 70 where u once again had to do what u did at 60, farm to get attuned. After getting attuned you could finally start raiding..."
Now, alot of this you won't understand, never mind that. This describes the reason behind why I quit. Short you could say I've played the same game for too long. The game is very reptive, but still enjoyable.
All the time playing from start to TBC I enjoyed it alot. But what really kept me in game was raids and PvP. If you think you will enjoy spending up to 5hrs every night (not needed every night, depends on how hardcore your guild is) you will enjoy the endgame content. Once you've hit 70 (maxlvl) you got 3 things to do: Raid, farm and PvP.
Raiding: This is probably one of the best parts of the game. If you're in a nice guild with lots of helpful and nice people, this will be one of the best experiences of WoW. You will with alot of other persons try to kill a boss that requires up to 25 man to kill. This usually requires your guild to focus and cordinate. When cooperating like this you will soon grow pretty tight, and start to know each other. Probably the best part about the game. The only bad thing is the time you need to put down on it.
Farming: What will be requied before you can raid. You will need to do instances over and over again. You'll have to farm the same mobs over and over for a drop. You will stand at the best farming place to get the money needed for your epics shoes, or something. It's one of the boring parts of the game, but every game got it (nearly). However the time spent farming will pay off, making the time spent farming worthwhile, if even so boring.
PvP: My favorite! PvP (Player Vs. Player) is pretty good in this game, if it's one of the best I don't know, but it's certainly good. The PvP is mainly focused around Battlegrounds and not much outdoor PvP. Some like the battlegrounds and some hate it. I personally like battlegrounds much more than outdoor PvP. The PvP is (as the most of the game) based around gear, but it also allows an amount of skill. It's enjoyable!
My suggestion is that you should try the game. You will see all areas for the first time and everything will be a new experience. The game will probably keep you entertained for alot of time. It all depends on what type you are.
WoW is easy accesible and a good game for the beginner and proes. The game contains alot of the same, but it's alot of the good same. Try the trial, see if you like it.
WoW was cool game destroyed through kids, rly all bad things in whole game time happened due retarded, greedy, dumb 10+ year old morons (& nomes ofc) . So answer 4 u is " naah. leave it, w8 4 some more sensible" . Conan. TCoS hmm
I hope only incommin games will pull more adult players. WoW was like retardpuller.
Game play is largely based upon grouping other then the leveling factor where 80% would be solo questing.
As for TBC (The Burning Crusade)... Almost destroyed the game but come a few patches it POSSIBLY will be recovered.
I would suggest using the trial and look at the classes etc and what not before making any decision. Lv60 game content does improve but item/class scaling is horrid right now. Grouping also at 60+ can be horrid (depends on server) as instances require less people with more activeness and strategy (where the children and idiots play a big roll in making it worse).
Gettin trial, startin play in few years old game when new r incommin is ermm ;s 4 me it looks like i wanna play game 2.3 months. Buy better account if u have to. Already made character is good choice just 4 gamin + similar prize to game box . prizes went down like hell ;s ( wts 70 naxx geared warr ).
And last thing . Dont know how old r u but old dicovery is ; a.meh like WoW -------> WTB 20+server, IQ test necessary 4 players, if u got mom, dog, golden fishes or wife farewell . 50% of WoW when i was 60/70 it was community/guild. My personal xp with WoW community is ; ppl leavin, friends turnin in enemies, it is huge Big Brother show, kds, kids, kids, corruption , kids, our eastern brothers ;s ,
more kids. sigh sry, had to call back my wow mood. It wasnt nice. Startin b happy couse i said @%$ to WoW
But got big hole to fill, it has mmorpg size ;P
On these forums you'll find the negative WoW opinions outnumber the positive ones, but you can't argue with it's unique combination of success, widespread critical opinion and online culture.
Roll as Horde; for some reason I find the experience with the community is far better. Alliance, in general are useless at working with a team. At first I thought claims that Alliance are crap were unfounded, but despite no clear reason, I must agree that Alliance are indeed worse overall. Perhaps your experience will be different.
The only way to find out is to play the game. If you find out you don't like it, come to MMORPG.com to tell the world, everyone else does
Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...
I'm a burned out player as a previous posted pointed out, we are a large segment of the ex-player community. I played for 2 1/2 years and looking back, I only had fun the first 6 months that I played. I ran into too many of those power crazy "-50 DPK!!!!" Guild Masters and that took away most of the fun.
First...it's worth the trial just to check it out rather than just take the word of some disgruntled people responding here.
Not sure why there are so many sore spots contending the community is noobs and '10-12 year old...not my experience and I have played on at least 5 different servers.
Maybe English isn't your primary language but I truely beleive if you tried just a 'bit' more youcould construct some relatively coherent sentences...unless of course you choose to be cryptic which is anything but appealing. It makes you look a bit dense
I played for about 1.75 years and had great time leveling up 5 60's and raiding through much of the original raid content. (Through AQ 40).
But I burned out shortly before the expansion came out, and when I realized what TBC was going to deliver it just confirmed my decision to cancel my accounts at the end of last year.
But if you have never played there is still much fun to be had I'm sure......
Now, if you want to play a game that is just getting off the ground (aka new) then give LoTRO a try......another quest driven game...

WTF a nerf for &*^%sakes ok ill adjust what i adjusted tooo well another nerf ohhh myyyy goodness Oh well i'll start another char cause i dont have 4+ hours too run through a dungeon to have all the looot dished out too the party leaders m8s or some dumbass DPK system or not even finish because im not in the most elite Guild so i have to PUG the dungeon, ohh my goodness 4 hours is now 5 6 7 8 hehe nah i jumped ship after we wiped the third time cause some dumbass went for some herb and didnt see the mob behind the pile of bones LOL.
But who am i to say if you will like it or not....i loved the game for near on 2years.TBC came out which kinda made the pre TBC areas obsolete cept caverns of time, lvling a new char is the same cept the new draeni / bloodelf starting areas. Aldor city WTF is the point and no Auctionhouses in outlands come on lame just lame.
But who the hell am I to say what you should do, like anything in life live the experience feel it for yourself.Go and dance naked (cept ya panties) in goldshire or experience CHUCK NORRIS jokes in the Xroads. Either you will think the game rocks and ya play till ya get bored (i did several times had a month or 2 vacation and wam back into it) or you will hate the colour of the orcs or the sheep mounting antics of the Human chars .....either way if ya do decide to play remember its a game not RL have a laugh (Yell in IF or undercity LFM Raid on KFC EPIC chicken for all) have fun and most of all /Train.
If you like that kind of simple and easy mmorpgs i suggest you to try LOTRO. Its pretty similar to WoW but newer and better.
Anyway, i dont think WoW neither LOTRO are games to fill years of gaming. When i reached max lvl in WoW i started getting bored about it, and i presume the same will happend in LOTRO, but i am still leveling up, so, lets give LOTRO the benefit of the doubt.

No offence just i rly made kind of statistic when started second year of wow ( first 8 months was imba fun). Wonderin , how come WoW turns most ppl in some ....... . Most things done by ppl in WoW is perfectly unable to accept inr, maybe thats reason ( less civilisated ppl has more respect and r used to pay 4 own actions, seems civilisation turns into bastard). Hope Conan and TCoS wont works like it , pleaaase . Killin, blood, dead bodies under our feets OK but fairplay all time. Hmm just discovered i dont fit to mmorpgs. Human factor gg ;s
That's why Free-Trials were invented.
Set aside a couple of weeks from your other games, get the trial and try it out. The first two weeks of play will give you a fairly good idea of the game mechanics and what the world is like.
You won't get to advanced content like PvP and raids, but you will get to see the grinding and you'll be doing that throughout the game.
The game is polished and well-designed, some people find it too simplistic, many more people enjoy it, and some people complain because it is so successful.
Make your own judgement about the game, it's not like trying it out is going to cost you anything.

My two cents on if WoW is worth it as a game.
WoW is worth it, if you really don't want to risk losing your social life. WoW is a game that is created and put together in such a way that you find yourself playing for hours on end missing out on alot in life. Some students fail school for this game. When I was still in [school back when it came out], I got my mother to let me be homeschooled the whole year so I could play.
Also, things like jobs are hard to keep up to par with. You will find yourself thinking that new peice of T5 is just so much worth it than paying off your car this month. As long as your electricity and cable internet is still going, right?
A quick glimpse into my last few months of playing can be easily described as this. I had been in the same guild for about 7 months already, we topped the BS server in PvP and we were slowly climbing to second place as far as PvE went. BWL was our choice of farming when we were bored, and we were so geared up that we could offer to sell all of the MC gear to random people that we made apply then pay ridiculous amounts for crappy T1, T2 pants from Rag always went to our guild members, as well Cores and other materials/BOE's. [I'm talking about the Evil Clownz Sect guild btw, WOOOT ECS REPRESENT! <33] Anyways, I woke up everyday around 12 PM to start raiding preperations. I would be raiding from 1PM to about 7PM/10PM [mattering on if it was a guild raid or a half PuG like MC raid]. This game became my job. I could afford it though, living with my parents.
So, is the 15 Bucks a month. Losing all hope of a social life. And having a second job worth it?
Sometimes. You might say, "Oh i'll just be a casual player!". Ok, go ahead, you'll be stuck in Quest Greens for the rest of your time playing and eventually that is not going to make you happy anymore. You're going to want those huge shoulder pads that resemble an Angel's Wings on your back, or your mask that makes you look like the biggest bad arse in the server. It's really something you have to decide yourself.
