It's amazing how bored I got within a week of playing this game. I thought it was going to be a very cool game when I bought it, I was very excited, but this game is the most boring game I have ever played. I wasted my money on buying this game. Truthfully, I think FFXI is more for 8 year olds. When you get into a battle, it's like 3D pokemon. This game is more for gamers who are first starting, but I've seen alot cheaper games that people can first start on, so I believe this game is a major waste of money.

what sucks is that there is no tutorial and they just throw you into the game right away and you don't know where to go or what to do.
That's how I felt when I was a noob - lost.
and being lost made me bored.
I still play it though.

I learned about the mentor system and now i have a lv 30+ person in game to talk too when im wondering about how something works or whats good stratagy..
learn to use it. its usefull.

truthfully im not paying attention to the grind even though im only lv 5. im running around town talking to every npc to learn about things and find quests.
Quests initiate more than just them talking to you. a little quest senario goes on with people walking around and talking to eachother (npcs) they open doors and come down stairs to talk to you. the camera moveing in those is great..
I wanna get to lv 10 to start getting in parties and have some real fun eventually levling up to a Dark knight,
LMAO......I'm sorry....excuse me, but needless to say your topic and comments are pretty much pointless and hold absolutely no merit. I mean just look at your mem date and number of post. No, dumbass. That's what you eluded to, so don't dodge what you said. You never gave any reason as to why you thought his opinion was "without merit" besides the fact that he's new. So why don't you get a clue, you pompous sack of wind?
You know to tell you the truth 4 of my friends stoped playing it after the first month. They said that it was pointless. They said you have no real mission nor purpose. Just travling, leveling up and hacking n slashing.

Hmmm. Harsh words for such a seasoned vet? <grin> Obviously you fit in the same category as our rude and clueless friend above. Anyway I made no such attack on anyone's person, now did I? Also I do not go around on forums vindicating the so called "wronged" and insulting others with names. And I'm pompous? I find that odd, hmmm. But if you insist on further explaination of my above comments to both you and our friend above, then who's really the "dumbass" here? Either way I shall entertain you nonetheless:
1) Anyone with half a brain can create a day old account and start bashing a game and their players.
2) Telling people that the game they choose to play is better suited for 8-year-olds is insulting
3) Creating a TOPIC with words like: sucks and blows will not draw anything less than what is puts out.
4) Not having anything intelligent to say to backup your dislike of a game is pointless and rubbish
5) The fact that someone would take the time to create a account just to piss people off, kinda shows that they aren't too keen to what other may think or feel.
6) (This is for you, Zide) My comment to your lame excuse to show others how pathetic you can be, shows how I'm not too keen on trying to match wits with an obvious moppet (or someone of like mind anyway).
Now before you go on to try to retort with some lackluster method of electronic insults of words to me or my person, know this: I never tried correcting anyone nor did I insult anyone with the type of vulgarity that you have displayed. Know what you are getting into next time you wanna play Captain Save-a-hoe.

It would have been more appropriate to give those reasons in conjunction with saying the original poster's views were without merit, instead of just saying that.
And where in the world did his type of slander warrant anything short of the comments I made to him above? Jeez are you that dense? For lack of the better part of valor I simply stated: Been there! Done that! And directed him to a more suitable topic with similar views to his own (did you notice the link?). Besides you are no one I have to answer to, if the original poster had beef with me let him speak. It was YOUR comments that were off topic and didn't belong.

To the original poster, in the future if you would like your views to be looked on seriously, please be a little more subtle when dealing with others. I for one enjoy playing FFXI and would support any reasonable criticism to it's flaws.
