I still believe that down the line the game will reach its potential. The sad thing is that this will probably be the last game that will really try to catch the feeling of  the older mmorg's. I doubt anyone will invest serious money to doing something similar. It will be intresting to see what the game develops to. As for me 'getting owned' by this anouncement.....Yes mate you are right. I will not be able to eat tonight.  I liked the game yesterday and will still like it tommorow.

Still have my problems with it ( combat balance for groups, rare and ur drop rates, group bug, raid content) but waiting to see what the new developing team does about them.

seriously though I am happy that the fanboys got a huge slap of reality, however im sure there are some out there really disappointed which sucks for them. Hopefully SOE will be smart about this merger and make the game more playable for everyone. Like i said in other posts i am interested in vanguard but cant play it on my new PC ... which to me is just silly (especially since i can run EQ2 on very high quality with no problems).
i am very interested to see what changes come with this merger.
    8800 and vista?

please i will not buy a 300 dollar video card to play a stupid game especially when my card plays every game i have (eq2, Battlefield 2142, Tabula Rasa) just fine.

No, I was asking IF you had the 8800 and vista.

The game had potential and still has but it has two minor flaws which combine to form a major flaw:

    1. They released the game too early so all the gamers who like bugless or perfect games at release weren't impressed so backed out which happens in every game in beta but in V:SOH a lot of people backed out including me self.

    2. It's a next gen game so people with low spec computer's who'd want to play can't play anyway.

So the only people who actually play this game are fanboi's with super computers, which isn't a lot.

We're all Geniuses. Most of us just don't know it.

    Do you even play MMO's?

As opposed to someone who has to resort to a minor typo to make their arguments.

You seem to like making references to other threads, how about linking that post you made earlier this week where you were claiming the Vanguard developers had problems that were completely out of their control?   Now we're finding out who was really to blame, and it was who everyone else was saying, the developers - while you were busy trying to make excuses for them.

A shame when one's credibility takes a nose-dive.  But then what else can be expected from someone who has to resort to name-calling and insults.

That’s fine man, good for you. This posting was really directed at those that are the over the top fans we all know.

    Not all fans.

I said: So what you're saying is that a software company should just drop thier project entirely if things shouldn't go thier way?  Instead of releaseing with what they have, they should just through it all away?

What you're saying is that if a situation should arise that is completely outt of the develpers hands; regardless of how they got thier to begin with, the dev. company should just thorugh the money they've spent already away, never even attemp to recoup some of the thier loses, and pay back at least some thier debt.  In stead of releaseing ahead of schedule when they are out of money they should simply give up, so that no one ever gets to even play the game they dedicated years of thier life to?

Sounds like a sound business decision to me.  I'm sure you would make a company loads of money with practises like that.

The discusion was about options you could take when you have reached your last resort as a company with a product in developement.  One person stated that it should have just folded, and I pointed out that in a practical busines sence, if you have a debt based on the product you do what you must to make up some of that money.  Hence release with what you have, as aposed to doing as others stated and trash the product.

I did not defend anyone.  While I don't defend I also do not condemn anyone without having first hand knowledge of the interworkings of a company to make baseless acusations.

If you wanna reference something I wrote then do so in the correct context.  If there is one way to accually piss me off in a forum, it's to take something I wrote, twist and bend it to better work with another line of thinking.

My credibility lies as a fan of a game I play.  Sorry you can't say the same.
