Getting stuck in one place - any suggestions

Can anyone help with any suggestions at all...

My character keeps getting stuck for no reason, as-in cannot move, i can turn but cannot go anywhere... I have detected graphic settings and have then tried reducing these to see if it helps at all, to no success. Has anyone else encountered these type of problems?? If you did was it possible to fix them? I played various other online games and have never suffered from any form of major lag. Now being honest here I'm not big into tech talk regarding pc's so if any suggesstions could keep it nice n easy I'd appreciate it.

Sorry if this subject's been covered a lot before but i just couldn't find anything regarding my problem and the fact that I'm stuck at work with only minimal access to certain sites doesn't help out too much.

I am really enjoying this game so far, but this problem is becoming a massive turn-off factor - any suggestions welcomed at all.

cheers

I've found that getting stuck in place is client side lag, 99% of the time.  The other 1% of the time is seconds before a server crash.

Are you playing on a US server?  If so, that may be the problem.

I play on an EU server and I'm convinced it's not lag. Like i said i can still turn and move etc and although i do suffer a little lag upon entering busy areas this feels very different.

Ah.  I meant more high-ping lag, not so much video lag.

When my internet starts getting bad (common occurrence here, unfortunately) I can still turn around, see chat and watch mobs decimate me.  I can't move or activate any abilities.

But if you don't think it's high ping, you may want to post about it on the tech support forum - but in the mean time check this post forums.lotro.com/showthread.php and see if any of that works for you.

Sounds like a case of high ping, are you on dialup by chance.

Another guess would be a background program or a fire wall issue. I had to change my security suite a few weeks ago when trhe one I had been using for 2 years updated and started causing me all sorts of problems. I thought I had fried my video card because LoTRO and a couple of other games began minimizing to the system tray at random times.

Also could be spyware or malware causing a random slowdown.  Try running a virus /spyware scan and then optimizing your drive. Good luck and try posting this on the tech forums, they seem to be pretty good although in my minimizing case they were scratching their heads.

    I miss DAoC
