I'm loving this game so far

2 days into VG and I've gotta say, there are some real whiners on these forums. I almost decided against buying the game due to all the negative hype spread about it on these forums. But aside from a few bugs (which are to be expected in an MMO this new) the game is great. It runs fairly well on my PC, the graphics look great, combat is smooth, and I have no real complaints. The only thing really bugging me at this point is a lack of players on the servers.

I felt the same way 2 days into Vanguard, hell I played it for almost a month, till the repetitive gameplay coupled with many other non-performance related issues finally forced me to unsubscribe.

I never quit because of performance, my performance was average, which was fine because I have an average PC, the bugs were annoying but they were for most of the part, ignorable.

I hope you continue to enjoy VG and hopefully SOE will improve the game and some new players will come along. My hopes of re-subscribing diminish more as the future mmos draw closer day by day unfortunately.

Congratulations, and I do not mean that in any sort of a snide way whatsoever. I may very well check it out in a few months, I think I could get it for free from amazon right now with all the points I have saved up. SOE, although I hate to admit it, was able to turn EQ2 around from a boring sorry excuse for a game (imo) to something somewhat enjoyable (even though I never got past 53 or 54). It is possible that they may be able to do the same with VG:SOH down the road.

In my eyes they have one heck of an uphill road ahead of em but with better management any number of things are possible

LOL same here man, I never wanted it due to all the comments about how much it sucked and it turned out to be wicked. I really wish they would cut down on the amount of starting loactions so people would be around eachother.

I really mean this in the friendly way, but do yourself a favour and stay away from forums atm, especially if you are new to the game. Many of us are in a very emotional state, and... it wont help you. If you seek advise see the official forums SOE is setting up atm. Dont get this in the wrong tube, I sincerly mean it well. ^^

What a sick joke! Only 2 days into VG, yet declaring the game "great" and all the critics "whiners"!!! Trying to smile out of courtesy.

However, if this is not a joke... and after the terrible demise of the game, you still have the audacity (or the ultra naivity) to advertise it, you deserve to be "inflicted" with even greater pain than that of playing this game.

Markaj, why you attacking the man or woman, let them speak their mind on the forums. No one consistanly attacks you when you have a idea or something, let him tell his tale. different aspects of the game are good and some very bad, I for one got tired of the XP loss bugs and only craft, mine and qaurry now.

The game will get better in time as now $OE has their hands in the pot (they don't like to lose money).

Seriously I hope you have fun but to be totaly honest all you're saying is that "Vanguard has two days of content and I think it's great. People who complain about the game are all whiners!". Maybe you should wait a month, since most MMOs have two days worth of content in them. I'm not trying to insult you just saying you've made a pretty bold statement and labeled many people as whiners pretty quickly.

Say hello to Brad Mcquaid in game for me, you'll probably find him in a cave counting his gold and talking to himself

All I'm saying is I've tried every big MMO that has come out in the last 5 years and I've had more fun the first 2 days of VG than any of those other games, and I think thats worth mentioning. You guys that have nothing better to do than come on and flame me for saying that are a bunch of tools.

After hundreds of hours in game..I'm STILL discovering something new every day .By the time I finish one thing I want to do....I've added 3 more things I want to do. It will take me years to accomplish all I want to accomplish in that game...and I look forward to each and every single minute of it.

I do not go around posting in crap and lies in other games forums....why? ..because it's completely retarded to post about a game I don't play. It's unfortunate that so many others don't think the same.

Remember....these forums mostly represent those disgruntled. The people happily playing Vanguard...are busy playing. To judge a game by posts made in a public forum setting is not a good idea. Every knucklehead on the block posts here because it's easy and busy. Trolls love this place because they get quick responses. Quickly satisfying whatever twisted motives they may have.

Vanguard has plenty of players...thousands are logged on to each server at any given time. It's the massive size of the world that makes it SEEM like not alot of people are around. The world of Telon is positively massive !

Performance has improved greatly since launch. Game bugs are almost nill....and well within typical mmorpg standards for the majority of folks. Yes...you will still see posts from extreme cases...most of the time it's user error. I remind you again too...only the disgruntle bother to post...the happy ones rarely post their happyness. Unhappy people feel the need to vent their frustrations and look for others to post agreement in order to validate the way they think.

Play Vanguard...it sucks less than the rest !

Size of the world has nothing to do with it. I've sat, and counted the # of players online via the social panel at various times, and maybe on the Euro server, or Florendyl it might peak out over 1k, the others though? Not a chance. "Thousands" maybe if you combine the total numbers, but not individually, and certainly not at any given time.

This guy is hilarious. Really someone should give you a humanitarian award for all your volunteer work on behalf of Sigil. Check the post history, hes the Kenneth Lay giving the optimistic speeches to his Enron employees despite the forthcoming situation. I for one took the Jeffrey Skilling approach and got the &*(# out when I realized the ship was sinking.

I noticed your not in any of the threads where Brad and some of his employees are spilling their guts. Have any comments on what your illustrious leader did to his employees?

To the OP, glad you are enjoying it, I did too the first month I played (in open beta), enough so that I bought the game and played another month. Once I got my Druid up to about level 20, that's when the wheels came off in terms of having any fun in the game. (for me)

But I know many people are enjoying the game, so I always tell people to give it a trial and see if its your cup of tea. If so, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself and have many hours of entertainment. (just don't turn into a VG poster child like Tham...)

and if not..you can come on the forums here and be a "hater" like the rest of us

Let's be hypothetical here. Lets say that in 2 days time you can actually make a judgement call on a MMORPG and call it good. Now lets also say that Vanguard is "good" or "better than Game A" to paraphrase the OP. OK a game that gave you 2 days of fun and is great. Is it worth investment? Do you really want to build a character and waste 100-200 hours playing this game only to find that SOE nerfs it to hell or leaves it working on a skeleton crew who patch and fix about every three months or so? Worse yet that they cancel it all together when it isn't making them a profit anymore?

I found parts of VG tolerable but also found other parts frustrating beyond any other MMORPG in existence. If VG didn't fix itself in six years of development then even SOE are going to take another year to fix it and no one will be here then.

If it's just a game that you plan to goof off in then I would say it might work but stability in game and out of game right now is horrible for this one. Be WARNED!

I honestly wish you the best and hope you have a long and prosperous journey through the Vanguard world.

However, I think more controversy has been stirred by this game than any in MMO history. Unfortunately, most has been petty whining and drama.

The creators of this game are not without fault as well. They have stonewalled, whined, and pointed fingers all through the creative process. They hyped their way into a corner and released this game well before it was ready. Comparatively speaking, this game failed it's opening test. But, there has been vast improvement made since release. It runs better. That's about it.

We ALL hope SoE will save what's left of this MMO. I personally, am not holding my breath on this one.

So, again, good luck with this game. Who knows, maybe someday we'll meet in-game. A game that is, or was, part of a grand "dream". But, now I'd be happy if it were just connected together like most of the games out there right now.

I've been playing Vanguard since Beta 3, so have seen a lot of changes. Frankly, I'm still enjoying myself at level 47 cleric and level 42 smith on Gelenia server. Now, I have the benefit of a circle of friends I've played with for over five years, plus a new guild that plans on raiding. Others aren't quite so lucky on other servers with finding groups, etc.

If you are enjoying the game, great. If it's not for you, great. Hope you find another you like.

As for internal Sigil goings on? Hmm, I've been through the dev side of bad management before (not games) and corporate crap is never fun. However, I'm not going to up and quit playing because some Sigil employees lost their jobs. If that were the case, I'd probably use no products or services anywhere in my life... it's a fact of corporate life, no matter how much we hate it.
