Hi y'all was just wondering if any 1 got there POTB key yet i am still waiting for mine if i ever get it but i had noticed in there registration screen that at 1200 hrs GMT+8 time the key will not be needed does any 1 know of when this time is as i am in Australia am unsure as to where this time zone is and how much longer i have to wait to be able to play
It was supposed to be up :45 mins ago but they posted saying there is going to be a delay due to networking problems. So probably another couple of hours..
As far as I know there is no key. Just register, DL the client, patch, login and play.
I actually just got done playing it for about 4 hours. I can't honestly say I enjoy it.
It looks nice, but the family thing isn't all that new. Guildwars: NIghtfall Heroes are actually an earlier version of this concept. Though the AI is smarter in GE.
I'm also not a big fan of the instanced quests from Ramiro. Neither one is balanced for the level you can get it at. After 5 tries at beating him, I just gave up. The quest is available at level 8, my Fighter, Wizard and Scout are all level 8 with all level 8 gear and points spent on their skills. I even pulled the daggers of my Scout just for this fight so he'd be forced to heal. But Ramiro hits my fighter for 250 a shot. I won't even get into the traps. My Wizard gets 2 shotted. I hit him for 35 damage if I'm lucky.
It's not a bad game, but I don't think it's the greatest game ever. The change of scene is kind of nice, but there is zero customization of your characters. They quite literally all look alike. My Wizard looks just like every other wizard. Same with my fighter and scout.
I'd recommend at least trying the game to see if it's something you'd enjoy playing. As for me, once it goes live, I don't see myself playing it.
its basically called "patrol mode", and u select a area and ur chars hit all mobs near that area. so i turned it on, went for dinner and grew 3 lvls when i came back. =P
i am lvl 12 now lol ( going 13 with a bit more afking)
for those wanting to try it, PLEASE DONT PUT ANY COUNTRIES OUT OF ASIA in the signup, i heard they are putting ip bans when the k2 network one come out and fyi, k2 -> p2p and item mall, while the asian one is f2p ( prolly ) with a item mall. you make ur choice =P

GE came out in Korea a long time before Guild Wars Nightfall was even on the drawing board.
I want to try this game, but I will never ever give K2 and it's "Sword of the New World" any credit card info, I might as well publish my card on the internet.

Hence why most of us are flocking to the SE version, not K2's 'clone' version.
GE: Sword of the New World and Granado Espanada may be the same game but down it it's core they are notihng alike
K2 network doesn't scam with credit cards if thats what you're getting at.
Also, SGE is the clone version, not K2 networks. SGE is a direct translated clone of the korean version, its Sword of the New World:GE that is going to improve certain aspects, at least, according to K2 network
its also funny how you say that SotNW:GE and GE is going to be "Nothing alike" at its core.
1: You never played the K2 network version, since its not even in closed beta yet
2: According to K2 network, they are going to improve certain aspects suchs as more custimization, better movement, better balance etc. So at its core, they WILL be the same.
K2 handled Warrock apprently they had issues with the pre-order stuff and apprently the retail version didn't come with what it was ment to thus the 'free' version had more to it, I dunno the full details of it I was 'away' at the time but it did kick up a storm on these forums enough to put ppl off buying from them..
Either way if K2 wants us to pay for content we can possibly get for free from the other version dispte having better options I think we'll play for free, until we actally know what the other side are planning god knows who will offer the 'better' service

Double posting but meh...
By what you just said it kinda implies that SotNW will be 'better' then SGE so how can both games be the same if K2 are changing the content?
Unfortunetly alot of the customization options happen in the game at a high level. You get things like Hair Costume Items, and Clothing Costumes. It does allow for a good solid solution to not having to stick to the same haircut.
You can actually beat Ramiro at level 8 if you have the know how. First just having level 8 equipment doesn't amount to much. When you are in the field quite a few stronger items appear, like Blue/Gold rank daggers and guns. If you use this equipment, you stand a much better possibility of winning. Although he is a pain in the ass with his traps. I beat him w/ 1 scout at level 12 using a dagger that stuns by chance and used high attack speed skills. Also when you knock him down, he is completely defenseless for a couple seconds allowing for easy skill charging. I did the same thing to Diego at level 24, however he isn't as close to being as annoying and speedy. Also stats have huge boosts in this game since they are locked until you hit level 100. 1 stat point increase from a weapon can increase damage over 100.
The game is very similiar to western games that unlock features as you go. Alot of the features happen at high levels 70+; even at cap some features get implemented. There is the territory conquest, the stat upgrade system, and faction system. With the Faction system you can choose 1 of the 3 factions, each with its unique cool thing. Like Mercenaries can turn a character into a character card and sell them.
One major thing is developing strategies. Against hordes you may use a simple AOE effect party; but it won't be effective in PVP which is the main thing to do at the end of the game. Also sometimes its more effecient to use 1 character instead of 3 because they earn 3 times the experience. Also turning on patrol mode to level won't last for long. It automatically turns off after a certain time and you just get killed off. Also you won't be able to pick up any of the precious loot and you can kill faster if you are controlling your characters. Just imagine how fast and how challenging it would be to control all 3 characters individually.
It really takes time to truly appreciate these aspects in a game. When you actually look at what the game offers it simply is the best game on release. It has incredibly low system specs, offers large scale PVP, uses a new player control method for an MMO, has monsters with smart AI, has a good style, uses a unique class system, makes having 36 maxed out characters a plausible thing to do, offers a unique quest every 10 levels and more common quests then you can keep up with, and its extremely polished. Ontop of this every 6 months thier update offers more content and gameplay features then games offer at release.
Please don't get disillusioned with what games are promising on release or you may get disappointed. Just look at all the promises in Dark & Light and Vanguard. This is a game that kept thier promises low, but the accomplishments high.

The IP banning rumour is false, always has been:
Quote from the offical GE forums:
Are there any non-South East Asia country banned from playing this?
Hrin has officially stated that IAH will not BAN any IP from any country.
The only issue between versions is payment plans IAH havn't annouced 'a plan' yet so it's unknown weather is F2P cash shop or P2P yet
