Well...not exactly.
Seems that billing is now in a "non-attended" phase. This means that the company running the game is so FUBAR that you can simply sign on with a cancelled account and play without being billed - ever.
Kind of a nice change from the days of when you cancelled and they billed your credit card for the next six months.
Of course there's no new content or bug fixes going on and the owners are no-where to be seen, so this game is a "get what you pay for" sort of deal.

i only had euro client and account
if the US client is still free to download, and account creation was possible without a credit card - i would put it back on the harddrive (im not giving these mugs any card details)
try creating a new account - and let us know if it is possible (add credit card details 0000-0000-0000-0000 if required to fill in the field)
nvm - this is answered in pm
if anyone else was wondering - euro clients / accounts will work, but your chars will be gone...
Sorry to see the game go out this way. It was a great game, except for the bugs, and I always thought it had real potential. Well let us hope or the best and that it will have a future.

I was hoping for Unitas (the US-Version of the European Server "Unity") to come a long time.
My hope is gone. And same happened to my ancient dragon. After a bug preventing me from playing for month i started searching for alternatives more than a year ago. I havent found anything similar to this.
Dark Age of Camelot? To many borders/no go areas on the map. Strange RvP modus...
Eve? I am a pilot. I wanna fly. This steering controls arent even similar to real flight. "Dont go to low secs!" Everyone tells. I was there for days in a (forgot the name) Starter ship, not capable to be anything but tiny.
WoW? Level 60 in 4 Weeks? Oh no.... Maybe 70 nowadays?
Rappelz? Looking good, playing free. Getting what you pay for: Stable Lags, frequent disconnects, easy quests and mobs, dreadful grinding, out of the question chat client, community? Never heard!
I tried some more, not worth some letters.
Horizons has outdated graphics now, had a bunch of bugs (Which MMO hasnt?), and is definitely dying now. But it had free flight, great background story, huge fascinating quests (at least for the dragons), and a real tough community on all servers I played (Ice, Unity, Order).
I really miss this game. It may be still running, but 30 people online wont keep it.
Hopefully the idea will be picked up and transferred into a new state of the art outfit with well payd devs behind the scene. I cant stand all that manga-style grinding games and movie clone games anymore!
Please Lords of MMO, give us a game to use our brain, not only the right forefinger for frequent clicking on hack and slash!

So sad vanguard....
I never cared about horizons but I tried it recently anywway and imo wow > horizons but it has its place. Kinda enjoyded it.
the free part of the game is in demo mode. you get to play. but no plots. and only 10 consignment slots. so making money will not be easy. but still a ton of fun crafting again. i just got my old account back up with my lvl 59 miner makes things sonice to have crafting lvls started.
i still never played a dragon yet. i think i'll have to try it soon
I really enjoyed this game - I particularly had a lot of fun designing and building my dragon's lair - but I'm not surprised it's dead.
The game already had a tiny community, and while most of that community could be characterised as par excellence for mmo communities, it also contained a core of real deadbeats.
Unfortunately they were largely unrestrained and made playing there unpleasant. It's why I stopped playing and why, though I enjoyed the game, I won't go back.
