Thinking about buying. Heard loads of good things about several parts of the game. Plus I want something totally different from WoW-grind mania... I got bored now at 70
I like the game and have a loremaster and a burglar. The buglar is more fun and the quests are not as hard as the loremaster quests. I am a lvl 5 burglar and a lvl 4 loremaster. The only bad thing I have experienced so far is that some of the servers are down from time to time and some have wait times before you can log onto them. Other than that, this is a good game and the graphics and art work is very good.

Errr..... class specific quests start at lvl 15... what did you mean exactly?
BTW I have a lvl28 loremaster and lvl10 burglar so same chars.

This is the most stable and bug free MMO that I have ever played. The servers are down for 5 hrs once a week for patching and maintenance. This week there was not a patch. I play on Meneldor with Zero Lag and only had a log-in que once, it lasted about 2 minutes. The busy server seems to be Brandywine, because it was 1st on the list of servers to choose from.
I enjoy all the classes I play, but if I could do it again I would roll a Captain instead of my Guardian. I played LM to 28's in Closed Beta and after that last major tweak in CB its just too squishy for me. My Hobbit Burglar is a lot of fun, and surprisingly good a melee.
founder with lifetime sub but allready stopped playing. seems like it was not the right game for me. i cannot find a class that i enjoy playing and even the idea of restarting and doing the first few levels again bores me to hell. i have tested 2 chars in beta but i only got in very late so didn't find out that its not the right game for me (it looked graphically very nice, but gfx is not all), tried a few more class/race combinations after release but still did not find anythign thats fun for me. Now i am really unhappy with having only 2 starting areas which got repetitive very fast, i cannot see these anymore now and still have no character i like playing.
I might check back after big content updates and hope that they improve the game for me, but overall i#m very unhapy with spending that money for founder option.
This isn't the eq2 thread, I think you miss clicked. The fact that you have not been active in this section of the forum pretty much disqualifies your comments as Sony Viral propaganda.

The fact that you have not been active in this section of the forum pretty much disqualifies your comments as Sony Viral propaganda.I'm have been playing eq2 since release, but that does not mean i have not played other games in that time. i played or tested a lot mmos for short or longer times (UO, EQ, E&B, EvE, SWG, EQ2, WoW, Vanguard, LOTR) I bought all of these games, and played most of them for longer than the original 30 free days.
I preordered LOTRO cause i heared from different sources (like a co-worker that was in beta and is still really happy with it and still playing) its a good game. i personally only had the chance to beta test it for a weekend and that weekend showed me that the game looks interesting especillay gfx (i did not get too much time to play that weekend). So i decided that a 150€ for a lifetime membership is not a bad deal, it will still be ok if i play it from time to time over some years besides another primary mmo.
If you looked at my posts then you can see that i got a lot more active on eq2 boards some days ago, this was about the time when i finally decided that lotro is not the right game for me (at least not like it is now) and went back to Eq2 fully and also started posting here again.
Also from some other posts on this (and other) forums i can can see that i'm not the only one that got lifetime sub and is now unhappy with it. (turbine can be happy about it, they got good money from players that won't be a load for their servers)

Ditto. Worst part was that after release, in addition to finding the game more a chore than a joy, is that the community went right down the toilet. It's nothing more than WoW with Hobbits and less content now.
I think it will get better- if they add Rohan and Gondor as starting areas, I may just come back. It's insanely stupid to offer the the 'of Gondor' title and force me to start in Breeland. That was always a complaint- but seriously, new areas with new questlines might bring me back.
