SAN FRANCISCO - May 15, 2007 - The CMP Game Group is proud to announce that two of its hallmark brands received high honors recently. The Webby Awards, the leading international honor for websites, has named Gamasutra.com, the CMP Game Group's site for game developers, as the Best Games-Related site of 2007. Other nominees in the category included CNET Networks' GameSpot, AOL's GameDaily, and LucasArts' official websites for the games LEGO Star Wars II and Thrillville. The Maggie Awards, the most prestigious magazine publishing awards in the western United States, has awarded Game Developer magazine the Best Computer/Trade Publication of 2006. Other finalists in the category included Network Computing, Redmond Channel Partner, RTC Magazine, and Technology & Learning.
"The CMP Game Group is passionate about providing valuable, inspirational and actionable information about game development to the entire game industry," noted Simon Carless, Publisher and Editorial Director for Gamasutra.com and Game Developer. "These awards solidify our position as the definitive editorial outlets - both online and in print - for video game professionals wanting to master the art, business, and science of making games."

"The Webby winners and special achievement honorees represent the very best in online creativity and innovation," said Webby Awards executive director David-Michel Davies. "We're proud to salute the people and organizations whose ideas and vision are transforming how we experience the world."
