Mmorpg would be the best. Even if i think StarCraft should never go mmorpg or FPS and stay RTS i bet mmorpg would sell more.

a Starcraft MMOFPS would actually be "cooler" depending on the gameplay, if it has vehicles...large scale combat....space combat etc...

in my personal opinion I think tha Blizzard should leave a good RTS alone and mabey improve upon that platform.  If you were to take an allready great game and change it ods are people will read about it, get hyped near release date but would pass when it came to purchase due to the fact that a great game has now become just like the rest.  World of Warcraft worked for Blizzard and im glad but mabey this time they should leave well enough alone or make Starcraft a better RTS not another MMORPG.

Shooter, with choice between 1st person or 3rd person, vehicle combat, turret combat, bunker combat, tank combat, wraith combat, combat combat, and did I mention combat, as in PVP, around PVP, for PVP objectives, for PVP rewards and PVP story....  well, you get the general idea

MMORTS FPS.. here we go .. make it a RTS... but..

Units are REAL PEOPLE, in a WAR, each side is controlled by one person.. make it a "game" and not a persistant world.. game starts and end

Have experience for fighting or command.. you can spend them on "squad commander" or "master commander" for a game.. fun stuff.. you could mix in AI controlled drones to even out the sides..

would be neat to have a larger scale war game then 16 v 16 matches, yet fps so it's not boring MMO pvp based..

might not be possible or easy to work out the kinks, but damn it would be fun.

From what I've been hearing, Blizzard has said it will announce 1 new, innovative MMO this year as well as 2 more games. IMHO, the best new and innovative MMO would definitely be a Starcraft MMOFPS. This still leads to the possibility of a Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, or even a Diablo MMO. Then again, the Diablo MMO wouldn't be any different than any other MMO out there so scratch the whole innovative idea. Personally, I'd love to see any of these titles being that WOW didn't keep my attention long after I hit the level cap.

    If you go here http://www.blizzard.com/images/

There is a new Starcraft-Ghost logo in the top right corner under Current Projects, and if you click it takes you to a folder /images/ghost which then redirects you to the "?" of the splash screen.

Maybe Ghost is coming back to life...

I would prefer mmorpg, to me personally fps's get really boring after the 2nd or 3rd week of fragging people. I think today is the big announcement isnt it?

While for the most part I agree, I can't really think of any fantasy MMO's that would be nearly as dark as Diablo 1/2 as you venture into the planes of hell, so that would be a new twist on things, and I'm sure they would add more innovation in some other way (combat, crafting, etc.) that would make it stand out in some way.  If they have enough money to spend 80 million bucks on an MMO (WoW, at least according to Brad McQuaid in an interview) plus all the money they've earned from WoW, they will have enough to push the boundaries a little.  WoW didn't really do anything extremely innovative, but then again it was Blizzard's first MMO, so they have learned a lot, and they know what the players want, and what they can deliver, so they will likely be a little more "risky" with there next MMO.  That all said, I still stand by my belief that the announcement coming up is a StarCraft MMO.

MMORTS thanks very much. I want to build up my army. Fortify my land and have my minions protect it while I sleep! Just to wake up and laugh at those who dare cross my thresh hold! Along with being able to take over worlds!

Ok, so my dream won't happen, but wouldn't it be cool?

yeh, i think a mmofps with starcraft included would revolutionize and open up a new door to MMOs, since mmofps are few in number, winning the market shouldnt be too hard, and besides Diablo is already an RPG, why make it an MMORPG when lots of peeps already play on it online and the it already has a 2nd sequel, Starcraft only has teh original and expansion. MMOFPS STARCRAFT FTW!!!!

I think they should make a MMORTS, starcraft game if they're going in the mmo direction with the series. It would be far different than most of the stuff thats out there and could build quickly, picking up all of the old starcraft/warcraft1-3tft lovers aswell as capitalize on their mmo sucess.

If they are too do a MMOFPSi think it should be with diablo personally, that would be truely innovative. Instead of blasting your opponet with guns your shooting ice arrows, leap attacking and blasting them into the ground with meteors. Also they could really build on the whole sword fighting aspect of games that pretty much everyone of them leaves out.

Anyways i hope blizzard takes some risks and hopefully makes a big time PvP game like they were planning to with WoW, but toned it down to get more sucess and they hit gold.

All those do not link anywhere, and are listed in 2004, when the Ghost Project was active. I highly doubt that site gives any kind of accuracy.

however, I don't deny blizzard might go grave digging and use the ghost project.

That is exactly what Savage is.  The game is fun on paper, but in actual play it doesn't work very well.  For some reason playing as a worthless dispensable peon doesn't feel very fun.

I really don't know how they will pull off a new Starcraft.

Wouldn't you guys be so mad if they just announce Starcraft: Ghost for next-gen.  Instead of an MMO/RTS/MMOFPS.

I hope it will be a MMORPG with twitch/FPS combat. I hope there will be character building and what not but still take skill in order to compete in combat instead of gear.

but seeing Blizzards first MMO im sure gear will be the ultimate factor ... cause god forbid if you have the ability to play 14 hours a day you should be a god.

I would find that being a big piss off, mostly because its recycling, and there's a lot of suspense about what will be announced tomorrow.

However, like I said before it is definitely not beyond blizzard as we have all learned from wow; taking the easy way out.

I will break my Blizzard CD's if it is ghost though, screw that.

If the game is Starcraft, it will either be an RTS or an MMO with RTS elements--either way, the core word is RTS.

The game is being announced in Korea, the Starcraft capital of the friggin' world. This means that they're banking on the Koreans being really jazzed about this game announcement, and I think that they would be less than jazzed if they found out that they game they obsess over lost the core gameplay element they loved in the first place.

koreans and chinese, play torneys every year, with hundreds and thousdands of players in several computer rooms with something like 100 computers in each, every player playing each other.. i definatly would not like to be on the recieving end of the korean boot.

Well blizzard said they were realising a "new" game on the game festival in korea, we still dont know that it is even Starcraft related but rest assured since Korea is the starcraft capital, we can expect nothing more
