A GREAT STORY FROM MY RETAKE WEATHERTOP EXPERIENCE!

in Lord of the Rings Online
So I am a lvl 21 Minstrel and I just got a group together to do this quest. We finally get to the top and are supposed to take down a giant troll and the orc leader of the uri-kahi or whatever. After battling mob after mob we finally get to the top of the mountain to face the bosses. Im standing like a foot behind this open gate. It closes! My group and I are seperarted by a small wooden gate and I cant heal them because now they arent "in line of sight". So they all die. And im standing there wondering what I should do. All of a sudden the gate swings open and the giant troll comes out after me. I had no choice but to turn and run aalllllll the way (a good 5 minutes) down the side of the twisty mountain while I wait for my group to get back to the instance. I get all the way to the bottom and they arent in yet, so what do I do?...RUN BACK UP! After doing this twice they finally got back to the instance and I met them (with the troll) about half way down the mountain. We get him to about half health and he just dissapears! We figure hell be back up top. We start to run back up and as we near the top he just comes running around the mountain randomly and attacks us. We die. We come back into the instance and all the of mobs are gone and the very first gate is closed and the ranger isnt there to open it for us. We called it quits.




wasnt the most productive party but it sure gave us some good laughs!

    I had something very similar to this happen to me.  I was in the map to the East of Lone-Lands (Forget name) and ran into something about 3/4 into that map.  i died.  in a very big way i died lol.  So i rez and use my map to go back to forsake inn.  I go to where the bridge is next to it and i'm standing there for probably, god knows, 10+ minutes when I start to run forward again what the hell do I see? The bad guy again!  I dont know why or how but he traveled for over 10+ (close to 15 probably) minutes and across a MAP to get me again.  I died... again... and he disappeared.  Was the absolutely, WEIRDEST, thing to happen to me in the game and sucked big time lol

    haha awe thats just sad. At least I had the rest of my group to laugh with me when they saw me coming around the mountain with Rigul hot on my feet.

    Hmm... i am not playing nor do i "hate" the game. I dont know the mechanics of it. But usually encounters that dont reset are considered to be bugs.



    But it is good that people laugh about it. On other forums people get really mad when they wipe a few times in a row at spawnpoint because the encounter doesnt reset. Either is ecause all is new or this game realy is fun enough so people get over it easy. Should try it once maybe...

    yeah the game has a very lighthearted atmosphere. I havent seen much complaining or arguing. People laugh and help eachother, its a good time.

    agreed with the post above me.  I mean, yeah, it hurt financially and ticked me off but what can ya do?  I reported it as a bug and the game's not been out too terribly long so I have realistic expectations as to bugs.

    Me and my kinship had this "problem"( closed door) way back in february.

    If this was a bug they already could have fixed it many times.

    Because of that I think the devs regard this "bug" as a feature.

    I'm looking forward to retaking weathertop. I didn't get to do it with my Champion, because I out leveled the quest while doing other things, but I think my buglar will have fun with this one. Thanks for the tip about the door, I'll be ready for that.. heheh
