Graphics are horrible.

in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
WoW, just WoW.



The graphics in this game are both cheesy and ugly. Looks like a cheap WoW knock off with old fashioned muddy graphics. I looked through the screenshots, and there is not one that impresses me. The artwork is fine, if you like comicbook feel to the world, but the actual graphics are disgusting. Everything looks like it is made out of melted glass with mud thrown over it. There is no distinction between rocks and ground, ground and water, water and boat edges. No grass, no trees with branches. Shadows are pixelated and distorted at angles. This games screenshots are a DX9 nightmare on an  inferior ATI  card.



Who is this game being developed for, hardcore WoW PvPers? HAhahahahha.... WoW PvPers..... Rofl..... hahahahahah.......



You want real graphics, look at terrain in Oblivion or Conan. Look at links in chainmail, look at shadowing effects.



This game would have been great with these graphics 3 years ago.

    Ya, I see your point, Oblivion is complete crap, what with all those 5 out of 5 ratings, and millions of copies sold. What idiots to have great graphics in a great game....

    Maybe the concept and table top version of WAR was before WoW, but not the game itself which the OP is clearly refering to.  Come on now...

     

    As far as the graphics for this game go, I will hold my judgement until the game comes out.  In my experience, most games with beutiful and awesome screenshots have terrible animation and look aweful in real time.  Of course this is not always true, but with MMORPGs it seems to be so.  Just look back at all the EQ2 and WoW comparisons there used to be...  Well, we all know who came on top there. 

    Only time will tell.

    Just another troll.

    WAR have quite nice graphics, 10 times better then WoW, more realistic, less stylized (but still stylized).

    AoC has probably the best terrain graphics seen in MMORPG, nice monster gfx and not so good characters graphics (plastic ftw). Good luck playing AoC with more then 10 people on the screen

      You forget something , if anyone ripped off comicbooks graphic from anyone its WoW that ripped Warhammer



    Warhammer series is older than any Warcraft game you can find , Blizzard just made the first MMORPG, Warhammer started out first with thoose graphics, so go troll somewhere else please.

    The real time combat mixed with the high end graphics are going to make for some nice lag problems. The smart people will turn their graphical settings down to the absolute lowest level to reduce any loss in framerate. That's what I do whenever there is any kind of real time twitch combat involved. The guy with the least latency and highest framerates wins 9 times out of 10 in that kind of situation.



    I don't want overly realistic graphics. If I want to see a realistic person, I just walk outside.

    I don't care about the artistic style of the game, and yes, perhaps WoW stole that stylization, I am talking about the muddy graphics. It is old and outdated, and I am dissapointed. They could have done alot better. Yes FPS is an issue in PvP, but I would rather have the choice to turn down my setting than not have them available in the first place.



    Art is great, though not my style.

    Graphics suck.

    After the time of Tolkien, everyone has ripped off someone along the line. As for the graphics, I think there is still a lot more time for polish.

    Polish is one thing, they would have to redesign the whole graphics framework. Some blobby plants may be added to the landscape, but nothing like what I would like, ie. Oblivion type environment.

    I don't know where your looking at your screenshots but the game looks fine, But who cares about top of the line gfxs if the game sucks cough aoc cough gfx really don't matter do they. So why don't you go troll the aoc boards and post there how great of a game it is, The game really is not tha tgreat and i am int he beta.

    I'm not defending WAR in any way. I'm never going to play the game. I won't fully judge it until the launch version is finished.

    Then you're definatly an AoC fanboi troll, because shadowbane had shitty graphics since launch and you're here just trolling. I like the way this guy thinks. I mean come on ppl isent it all about GAME PLAY! Ive sat behind this comp. and watched read and seen everything they have prepared for this game and I think its going to STOMP THE SHIT out of AoC and the overlord WoW. I just hope ppl give RvR a shot since its such a bitchin idea.

    I had a good computer when I played daoc, I could easily run best graphic. But still I wanted to run lowest to get the best gameplay when I rvred because best fps is what needs for good pvp :)

    To me, AoC is plain ugly. The terrain seems fine, but the models look horrid. The animations are simply unrealistic and awful. Warhammer accepts that it cannot be perfect and at the same time it looks very much like the miniatures. Cartoony graphics > "Realistic" graphics anyday, since the realistic ones always look sooo fake that they simply fail completly.

    Yea so, Oblivion and Conan can have a 150 versus 150 RvR battle without the server crashing????
