I had the misfortune of actually buying this game, thinking "hey it looks pretty cool". Man was I wrong!
I could not get this POS off of my harddrive fast enough! They don't call it "Earth and be Yawned" for nothing. Worst game ever. I'm happy to see it die and if it had a grave, I'd piss on it.

First off Earth and Beyond had plenty of subcribers for the very small amount of advertising. I buy every PC / Video game magazine on the market and did'nt see much advertisement at all. The powers that be killed E&B the day it hit the store shelves !
I really loved the story line of Earth and Beyond, Aye the Progen , Jenquai , Terren , Red Dragon , Vrix , etc... etc.
When they nerfed the NPC voice chat, i knew something smelled fishey. And they switched the monthly patches till every 3 months.. WE ALL KNEW THE END WAS SOON.
For all of us DIE HARD E&B FANS, all we have now is our screen shots. Its really 2 bad They could gave EverCrack a run for its money. For all the people like me that are sick of running around casting the same old spells or being a big ugly dwarf. Its all the same game w/ a different name WHO CARES !
Earth And Beyond was different and having a sweet ship flying around with your guildies hanging back getting ready for the new Epic battle was just 2 fun.
Earth and Beyond could of been so much more, The write idea, the write time, the write concept, the wrong approach.

This may be a a little late in the conversation but i dont know why E&B got such a bad rep as an MMORPG. Compared to COH i like it tons more and COH is top rated game on mmorpg.com. I hoped the little petition would help EA keep it on but everyone cancelled so he mmorpg feeling wore off.
This news truly broke my heart once I saw it not TWO MINUTES AGO! I was one of the original Beta Testers and I'm heart broken to see the Universe I helped to create just fade out of existance. I think that the E&B project would continue if it were in Westwood's hands.
I remember in the Beta Test the monthly updadte that brought the EVIL "Electronic Arts" logo to the intro. It was cool to all be in the mood to tear across the Galaxy in your space ship and the intro movie and the Westwood logo get you all reved up and ready, but right at that moment the EA logo just ruins it. And when they did rip the voices from the NPCs I did all I could to write a request to Westwood to return the voices and a Complaint letter to EA!
Some of the greatest individuals I have ever met were on E&B. The Guardians of Light Guild was not on the top 10 list but was revered for its Integrity. Additionally Westwood was great on their customer support and interaction. All was happy when one of the Devs showed up to the party. (Unless the were busting you for camping or Exploiting a glitch)
Before the initial release of the game Westwood Studios invited a select few for a Paid trip to Las Vegas at their production studios to help inspire the team on future content and ideas from the perspective of a player. One of which was my leader and founder of the Guardians of Light E&B Guild. Now how many game companies have done that for thier beloved Gamers!?
In conclusion I am really sad to see this game go. GOODBYE BEYOND! All I have now is Earth.

Unfortunately everybody bailed (including me) soon after the announcement, you feel really burned when you know your character will be deleted on such and such a date.. You get a good group of people that enjoy doing something in common and bang they pull the plug..
now I know we can always jump to another game but its not that easy as everyone may not enjoy a certain type of game and any game after E&B will just be a shadow.
for the genious conanowns, that has already been stated, if you actually read what had been already been written. and the reasons yout hought the game sucked balls was becuase you didnt ahve the bals to play it for any length of time, anyhow,

Don't see E&B arriving any time Soon (TM). But they also cancelled UXO, so I guess the E&B devs are really out of a job now. Shame really. I think they really tried to do good things with the game, but they were cramped for time and resources. I will be there when they pull the plug though. It was the first MMORPG I really stuck to and although I am now playing EVE, I still have a soft spot for E&B.
PS= Do not buy an EA mmorpg.......why? EA killed Ultima Online , Ultima Worlds Online cancelled, Ultima X Online cancelled, Motor City Online canned, Privateer Online cancelled, and E&B canned.........EA sux
Thats stupid.......every EA MMORPG (except UO and crappy The Sims Online) has been cancelled and/or canned.
E&B has not done as well as expected since launch. Only 53,000 units were sold after launch and subscriptions peaked at below 40,000 subscribers. After falling to its current level of about 25,000 subscribers, EA announced they would be closing E&B on 9/22/2004.
E&B.....great game.........

This game had a good concept, with the space simulator RPG action, but the excessive warping ruined it.
I played Beta... that was enough for me. The game was no good. You have have spent many hours but I have spent many days, weeks, months logged in to other games.

I player E&B during Beta and when it came out.
I had to ditch a few games as you can only play sooo many and money/time has been limited over the past 9 months.
I'm truely sorry to see this game die. I enjoyed it alot and tbh cannot think of a bad thing to say about it
Shame now I'm coming back into having the time I wanted to go back
