DAoC without ToA?

I stopped DAoC some time ago but i'm thinking to restart it.. But i will start playing the European WoW beta when it is released so i won't play it for long.. When i stopped DAoC ToA wasn't releazed yet so i don't have it.. I already have some 50lvl chars.. What i'm asking is will DAoC be fun for me without haveing ToA? Of course i don't expect to become the best in the game without ToA but will there be any interest for me for the 1-2 months i'm gonna play it?

Sure, there will be plenty of RvR action available to you as well as the normal world and SI... More then plenty content and action to keep you busy for at least 2 months.

There are a lot of new stuff comming out, frontiers is expanding and will be out in about 1 week. There is also a new expansion that is supposed to be out at the end of the year. But yes there are things for you to do without ToA. If you plan on playing longer than 1 month and/or want to compete in RvR/PvE then i would suggest that you get ToA.

DAoC is still fun without ToA.  ToA includes cheap items that make it a breeze lvls 1-20.  But once u gewt to lvl 40 u need to get ToA because the items are GOD in RvR.  But as i said its not worth it to buy it before 40 unless u want to RULE BG 0-3.

ToA or not ToA... That is the question..  (ouch ok that was horrible.. I admit it... *sigh* must have been a bad Latte or somethin)...

I'm not the biggest RvR guy around, in fact I find that of the 100+ times I've attempted to RvR, I might (notice MIGHT) have enjoyed 3 of those sessions.

PvE?  Love it, is it Tedius? Yup. Is it still fun though? you betcha.

I have ToA on my account and got my ML1 completed, and haven't bothered to work anything else at all unless a guildie or alliance member needs an extra body for one of theirs.  I did get one artifact and worked to level it to level 8 before I started reading up on what it would do at 9 and 10 (after nerfs) and decided it wasn't worth the many weeks I was spending doing the artifact level xp grind...

ToA offers some pretty nice equipment (if the item for your class hasn't been nerfed already), but honestly, I find that they aren't really all that impressive unless you are in RvR.  At least that is what everyone says who has spend literally 100s of manhours getting the XP necessary to level the item.  (lol thats right, who says that a 50 doesn't need to do the level grind any more...).

Bottom line - if you RvR - ToA will definetly add a whole new level of armor/weapon/spell combos that can be used to go kill your favorite Realm enemy.

If you are a PvE preferred player?  ToA may offer you some other places to Farm or XP (starting in the 40s you can find good XP spots), but other than that, I haven't found the items to be worth the hassle of leveling.

There may be (heh most assuredly are) others that would disagree with this, but hoepfully this gives you a little insight that I had not, as of yet, in relation to this topic!
