We do not ignore bugs and imbalances. Of course, it's always a matter of priorities, but while some bugs and balance conerns haven't been addressed yet you can hardly say it's a general rule.

I would call it the general rule that you guys ignore the imbalance and bugs and concentrate on new expansions instead.
You fix some bugs ofcourse, but very often you rather ignore it and hope players will adept and just live around the bugs.
Start a poll on official forum and ask if players want you to concentrate on fixing bugs, balance the game, improve lag or work on the new expansion (I understand that you can't start that ofcourse since if the poll would be a disadvantage for FC then you would be forced to put patch aside and improve the actual game instead)
(All 'you' are Funcom ofcourse, not to you directly Cz)

Maybe they have two different teams. One team works on solving bugs and another team works on ading new content. If I was making a MMORPG, that is what I would do. Yes bugs need to be fixed. But you also have to add content to keep players interested. So it is striking a balance in the game, you can't stop all development to fix all the bugs, why? because you will never run out of bugs, it is just the way things are. There will never bee a perfect MMORPG. So you have to try and find a balance between bug fixes and adding new content which of course means new bugs. never ending cycle. Honestly this game is like Virginia Slims, it has come a long way. At level 205 I still have not made it into the final playfield. I challenge anyone who says the quests are easy to attempt to do them without looking for spoilers or reading a guide or asking other players it will challenge you in ways you cannot imagine. I know there are some quests I would have never solved.
I hear a lot of people complaining about this game with camping, pvp and endless amounts of hecklars. I'd just like to say that this game is what you want it to be. It is your choice to camp, it is your choice to pvp and it is your choice to do the same routine over and over and over again.
I've been playing 2 years now and I have NEVER been bored or annoyed at this game because I make it fun by simply setting out small goals that don't take to long and enjoy them while they last cause I know I would'nt be able to do them again. If you really want to get to 220 take it one lvl at a time and take breaks between hecklars. Try solo missions, go raid bosses, go do dyha camps, go out and explor Rubi-kam hang out with friends.
That's what's so fun about this game. There's just so much to do if you allow yourself to see past the common goals. I had to take a forced leave of absence cause I was beginning to find it more (yes I'll use it) FUN then real life. Of course nothing can beat real life when you explore that universe haha

I would say this comment would be cool if posted towards a new starter. I played for 3 years (recent cancelation of acounts) over that time I got to explore Rubi-Ka from both sides of the conflict (never did neutral toons), as new content was added, I took the time out to go look at it. I remember days I would spend running round Lush fields or pleasant meadows killing small groups of outdoor mobs, I was amazed when new dungeons were getting added........ I am bored now, having taken the time to explore all the SL playfields upto and including Inferno (sorta popped into Pande, but only to use garden) coz I am bit of a eye candy freak, I am religated to number crunching and heckler killing. You could say I could participate in the social side, but hey, I am not paying a subscription for a chat client, it's supposed to be a game, and when I look for a game I look for action. AO now lacks Action, and instead breeds campathons, arguments and kill stealing. For me a few fixes I would like to see b4 returning: New graphics engine Faster throughput performance/server performance Mission posts in SL (even a NPC mission giver in a garden would be nice, and I don't mean the key quest giver either) Varied Mobs that give comperable XP/rewards throughout each playfield, not just on the brink higher %droprate on items (no less than 85%)
First thing is that not that many AO players hang out on 3rd party message boards, because Funcom has some of the best message boards around. Why I play AO:
8 characters per server.
Very little downtime.
Several classes can solo.
Variety of playstyles possible.
Interesting mission loot.
If you haven't played since SL, you will have to pretty much forget what you knew and will be restarting the game. Places that were full of people are empty now, not because everyone quit, but because people have moved. Funcom doesn't give out numbers of suscribers, but my feeling is that it is a an all time high.
Originally posted by Azzazzimon I know that the transportation is good, but if you are saved in a garden in SL then it takes some time for a low lvl to get to town. How far you have to go? You have to go far enough so you make sure you don't lose any players that are starting game just because they don't know anyone or can't find team.
Why would a FRESH newbie be in a garden :P
How far you have to go, what i meant by this for newbie get a mission in rome blue and guess where it be either rome blue or green, missions dont start sending you out to harder places untill u are ready for them

If you start in Jobe as a new player then you will spend your time in Jobe backyard and then most likely Nasc, close to the exit from Jobe you will find quest giver for Nasc key and also a garden entrance.
So new players that start in Jobe will most likely be saved in a garden pretty fast.
A teleportation system that only works for low lvl characters and a LFG chat that works even if you are in diffrent zones would help new players to find other players alot easier.
I have got to say that i love this game i have tried nearly every game out there and spent alot of money in the process, but im happy to be back this is the 3rd time i have returned to the game.
im not a massive fan of sl but there are some good content in there if you are 1) high enough 2) have a hell of a lot of patience 3) the pure love to grind. But i have to say im happy to be back with people i used to spend alot of time with

quests?
lol
90% of quests u cant do alone like key quests
and they are boring (kill this 10 times kill that 109 times)
so ppl who done such quests will never help someone else coz its boring
