The EQ2 Community

I just activated my account yesterday.  So far I'm having fun and I'm not even off the starter island yet.  The people have been really nice to me when I had a question about anything.  One of the players even found an Adept level spellbook of a spell for Conjurers, and he offered to give it to me for free by just /ting me out of the blue.  Players even take the time to /wave or /bow to you.

This is a big plus for me because I just switched from WoW, and the community is so much better here on EQ2.

I went from the High stress community of Shadowbane (a great game btw) to EQ2 a little over 2 years ago and have been thrilled with the game ever since and community ever since.  I remember stumbling on the game via trial of the isle free 10 day trial and ended up spending 2 weeks on newbie island just taking it all in.   Congratulations on your purchase of EQ2 and if you are on Butcherblock feel free to contact any skara brae members and I am sure they will help you in a kind way.  :)

I actually thought about choosing Butcherblock, and for some reason I went with Unrest instead :P lol Oh well, thanks for the offer though!

Great all the same, even if you are not on Butcherblock I think the better aspects of the EQ2 community are consistant across servers.   I did try WOW for about a month and though I thought it was a very good game my game experience and age made the community not quite inline with my play style and self reliant yet supportive mentaility.      Well if you ever do make an alt on Butcherblock and do not mind running around with a lot of 40+ year old players feel free to give us a tell in game or heck just say hi bow and wave whenever you like.  :)

I know anytime I started an alt I always gave away my adepts that were lvl 10 and below. On Najena, some new players have had people create the apprentice IVs for new players. I've actually offered a couple of times myself. The brokers are insane in terms of prices, and new characters will be hard pressed to purchase any upgrades to their spells. I'm hoping with an increased population, more tradeskill items will be created and the prices will drop.

When I play I like to stay in character and I am all like "May I be of service to you m'lady/friend." I always try to help because I just enjoy the feeling that while I am an otter, humans deserve help to.

Be cool to people, and try and stay cool that way you never have to regret making someone feel bad. Don't take what ya got granted because some people never get to feel happy. We get to play these great MMOs and surf a good site. Be thankful for what ya got and next time ya feel down imagine a fat sea otter waddling with a pillow and a night cap. Bam! smiles!

Hi I have to agree eq2 does have a really good community. I ventured into Oasis server and the only problem I've been having is with heroic npcs, buggers are tough lol.

I still can't make up my mind on what guild to join, they all seem nice although half of them listed seem to only want to raid, not that there is anything wrong with it. It's just I'm only lvl 22 and a casual player tho for now.

I've always found the EQ2 community to be much more mature and helpful. I play both EQ2 and WoW (raid in both). Not sure why this is other than perhaps a hold over from battlenet syndrome?

I've seen similar behavior in LOTRO that I did in EQ2 as well.

Same here! Reactivated my account some time last week and I've been really impressed with the community so far.
