I have got 3 Questions about this game: 1.Is starting now a good idea? 2.Is the combat action or like in WoW? 3.Is this game questing or grinding?
1. Umm probably not. Not alot of people are playing, and there are alot of new mmo's you could try out with a much bigger playerbase. After all this is about playing MMO's, its the amount of people that keep the communities and games alive.
2. Combat is click your target and start attacking. You don't have special attacks or combination moves, nothing like that.
However you can buff your stats and protections as well as debuff the opposing targets stats and protections
3. Its both, but alot more grinding, especially if your just getting started. Lot of catching up to do.
AC was a great game. I had a lot of good times in Darktide, but its time has come, move on to something new.

1. yeah. i agree
2. Combat in this game is crazy innovative...only if you suck is it...click and start attacking. You have different weapons that have different effects at certain attack speeds. plus all ranged attacks can be dodged (spells, arrows, etc.) There isnt the "watch the CD and mash the button when its done thing...like most current MMOS though. Trust me...while combat in ac1 can be boring at times...there are times when it is crazy..
-Fighting 2 spellcasting undead at low health, trying to kill, heal, and dodge spells at once.... >>>>>>>>>>>>anything wow, lotro, eq2, VG...etc.etc. have to offer.
3. Grinding is how you level...but it's quick, and the better combat makes it not so bad. There isnt any catching up to do...if you explore the game there are cool quests to be done at every level, and with a bit of skill you can compete with character within about 100 levels of you or so (levels are just a rough estimate of character str)
quests are all about lore and cool looking items, there are very few things worth keeping for use, BUT, if you read the massive depth to the quests you will want the items just to say you have them. (This also typically applies more to old school players that got to see the items when they first came in game.)
1. It depends, if you start now you will probibly want to start on Darktide(pvp) Frostfell or harvestgain.
2. I kind of disagree with the top 2 post I think AC has the best combat system out of any game out there. You can dodge while your casting unlike other mmorpgs, It takes more skill then it does grinding to get the best new attack.
3. Its grinding but you can macro, uncontrolled macro is not allowed but alot of people do it anyway, Find a good spot were mobs spawn, turn on macro and wala, in a day or 2 you can be 100+, with a good patron and clan you can find good hunting spots and macro with clan members, its easy to hit 275 in a month or 2.
Id have to say though play darktide, its alot more fun, leveling is slower because alot of the good leveling spots are either camped or raided by other clans but once you hit 140+ with some good tinked armor and a weeping weapon you can hand with higher levels, example I have a 128 mage, 1v1 I can beat most mages up to 275, the game is amazing its pure skill based so Id say try it out.
If you do let me know becuase if you start out knowing nothing you wil get bored.

In other words you can pay NOT to play.
Macro stands for "I am a lazy lame excuse for a gamer, but at least I am one step above the sludge that spends bug bucks buying a maxed out character and totally missing the whole game!!!"
