WoW has 8.5 million subs, even if they stoped updating the game it would take years to die off. With updates and expanions it could still be around in 10 years.

The other aspect of WoW is its that 10 quit and 20 join, then some of those 10 that quit only end up taking a break and resub in a few months.

If games like MxO and SWG are still around ... (no offense to the folks who play either)

I'm sure WoW will decline at some point, but I'm still finding former players coming back and new players coming in. WoW's just an easy game to get into, and caters to a number of play styles. Everyone thinks you have to rush to level 70, but I still greatly enjoy my BG twinks and low levels just to muck around with.

WoW's not perfect by any means, but I think it's dam entertaining and well worth the monthly subscription.

This is just my personal experience, but in my school alone, there has been at least 20 people that have started playing. They switched from runescape or something, but none the less, they switched, and are loving it! Now they're getting they friends and family to play.

Blizard has a great product, that has the ability to keep kickin' for years to come. This is completely due to their hard core players, always getting more people into the game.

WoW will never die, just as American Idol will never die.  But both are dead to me.

People for the first time are starting to actually look at other games which was unheard of before. They could get it right back by making a new version of wow. But overall yes blizzard is doing fine and will continue to make good games.
Truer words could not be uttered.
