It's only illegal for a job interview, for market research it's quite okay.

That said, as an analyst, my professional opinion is that this age grouping sucks. :p

What does the state or condition of one's physical state have to do with playing video games anyways? It's not like the person who can do the most sit ups is going to rule the gaming world. Age in the gaming world is a state of mind, not who has the most wrinkles or arthritis inflamations. Even the old farts can click a mouse or press a hotkey.

You really start dying the second you start growing (Even at birth your slowly dying). Now I realize this may be a hard concept but as cells replicate they lose a little bit of their structure, and over billions of cell reproductions (IE old age is why you see sagging skin, wrinkles, and other signs of old age).

None the less I am 21. What was this thread about again?

And, of coarse, I could be wrong ;) I'm 44 and only about 1/3 to 1/4 my friends play videogames, fewer among friends older than myself, more among the "youngsters."

Statistics can be skewed, but it does make sense.  I know my Grandmother and Grandfather both play computer games and they are in their late 70s.  My Grandfather loves the golf games and the submarine hunter games.  My Grandmother loves puzzle games.

    Currently playing:
LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)

    Looking Foward too:
Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)

Heh, I remember being told I was a loser for playing EQ at age 27ish by some 16 year old kid.

I will, in all likelihood, be found dead however many years from now, at my pc, or Playstation XXVII.

I think stupid is a strong word for kids/teens/young adults. Ignorant would be a better word in general. Though, there is plenty of stupid going around. When I was in my twenties, I looked back at my teen years, and realized I was a dumbass in many ways. Now in my thirties, I look back, and realize I was still a dumbass, just in different ways, in my twenties. I imagine I will have the same epiphany somewhere in my forties.

Yeah I'm 17 and think that older gamers are more "hip" than other types of old people ie. golfers/bingo fans/chess players. And I do plan on never stopping playing games, why stop ? they fun. And btw 25+ is kinda old look at it in my more wise teenage perspective:  its about the time you stop growing and start dieing. well never mind since getting that "hip" replacement shouldn't effect your gameplay much.

Well, from a teenage gamers perspective.. you have played what 2 maybe 3 MMOS tops?

I guess that explains why people are playing LotRO.

I think peoples perceptions of different age groups are ridiculous, that's why I don't bother making assumptions about someone because of their age, only because of what they post on the boards, for instance, Gammit's post to some could look like a fourteen year old trying to troll, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was some twenty five year old trying to act tough, but meh, that's just my opinion and smilies don't make the posts any friendlier, it's all about how they're written. My punctuation and sentences are fine by the way, I just felt like making a big wall of text so I can laugh at what you did next.

Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.

I read it, and it sucked.  Hence, my comment.  I'm not trying to make myself look cool.  Rather, I'm pointing out that you wrote poorly.  DER?

I also find it ironic that you yourself didn't read the rest of my post.  Nicely done.  /golfclap

I also included the wink, in effort to curtail your predictable post.  Alas, I failed.  :(

I'm too smart and awesome to be 14.

MMO games played or tested: EQ, DAoC, Archlord, Auto Assault, CoH, CoV, EQ2, EVE, Guild Wars, Hellgate: London, Linneage II, LOTRO, MxO, Planetside, SWG, Sword of the New World, Tabula Rasa, Vanguard, WWIIOL, WOW, Age of Conan

And trust me, your 20's disappear MUCH faster than your teens. It's freaking scary how fast they go.
I was just thinking the other day, "Why the hell does 'early thirties' sounds so much older that 'late twenties'?".
    I need another decade in-between, damnit... :/
Ugh...  Tell me about it.  /agree!

But, with age comes wisdom.  Being young can be over-rated I think at times.  Youngens just don't have the life experience to deal with some of the hardships they must face.  With every decade that is passing, I kind of look forward to the new phase of life.  From teenie bopper years, to self exploration and career, and now I am entering the role of fatherhood and family man.  Wouldn't give this up for the world!

Would I want to be 20 years old again?  Neh.  I already had my turn at it.

hahah so true Greslore, I could go ahead and tell you about the horror stories of trying to get a girlfriend at my age, but you probably already experienced it I can't wait until I have the freedom to go wherever I want and take whatever job I can find, better than just being stuck in a room all day doing coursework.

Wow, never have I seen such a simple question turn into such a lengthy thread.  Interesting.  Btw, I'm in the 25+ crowd.  In fact, it's 25+++++++++.  Ok, I'm 40 alright?  I'm still probably in better shape than most of you young whipper-snappers

I think one of the things we must face and deal with is the fact that we are all going to die.  Everyone will.  There is no stopping this.  Once we come to terms with this, the less fear we have of death.

In regards to our bodies feeling the affect of age - yes, it will happen.  But this is why we must take care of ourselves the best we can.  Take each day one by one.  Look at the good things of our life - our families, our friends, our accomplishments, etc.  Accept that we can not control some things.

LOL - wow this thread got waaaaaay off topic!!

With an age range set at "25 and older" you realize you're going to have alot people falling under that category.   And I'm with Shae...I stopped counting at 29...even though I'll be celebrating my 6th anniversary of my 30th birthday in July.

    Bleh...since I'm here:

You'll be seeing more "older" people playing video games.    Just because we grow older, doesnt mean we'll be giving up video games for shuffle board.  I know seniors at 70 who are very sharp mentally.

It would be better to make the poll like this next time:

    7-10

    11-14

    15-19

    20-24

    25-29

    30-39

    40-49

    50-59

    60+

I've only properly played 2, whats your point? I'd play lotro cause I like tolkien, unrelated to how many other MMO's i've played most of them would fake tolkien.

    15. 22 June I'll be 16, atm I think my age says 16 because I won't bother to change. No real idea why I checked 16, probably because I would forget it anyway.

Maybe skip the 7-10 option, I don't think there are many of those here. And if they are, I don't think they are any good at English anyway. Just make a option 12 or lower. Even if there are some 7-10 who can (against all odds) talk perfect English and so on, they aren't enough to have their own option. 12 or lower works fine, imo. And don't forget the 1-4 option, maybe there are some small kiddos here.
