I mean it felt real and keep me fixated! is this the same for Lotro? and is it sunny a lot in the world or is there a lota bleak grey sky's.

To quote what a review said : "Think of World of Warcraft and Everquest 2 making a baby...Lord of The Rings Online is that baby".

Its a great game. But if you like the open PvP that WoW has then its not for you. But if you like a FANTASTIC world and enjoy exploring and great quests/storys then its for you.

The only form for PvP is sparing (dueling) and PvmP (player vs monster player). Were you create you own monster or go in with your character to fight player made mosters (bad guys).

The world is amazing. There is so much variation, and detail to the enviroment I am shocked. The world feels belivabul. Were in WoW you can see they just made flat grounds with a few random bumps here and there. LORTO is more real to any MMO i have seen landscape wise.

It great fun. Maybe you can get a hold of a buddy key and test it out?

the world is probably the best part of LOTRO, they managed to capture the spirit of the books almost perfectly and playing it seems like walking in the world for real. Especially the shire is very hobbit-ish :)

Hate to admit that I have been enjoying the game and the world.

Sad thing that amount of exploring is approximately the same as checking the fridge.

thank you guys. when i get my new computer prity soon here i will 4 sure get this game. I love PvE and that seems what this game excels at

I bought the game and here what I have to say:

1)If you have ever played guild wars the PvE is somewhat similar to it

2)PvP isn't a huge factor to the gaming, to if thats what you want, don't buy it.

3)Some people play games just for the grpahics and I must say-- they kick ass in this game :)

    4) I liked the game

    5) This game is definately worth playing atleast once, but im not sure if ittll hold its popularity

    6) The game starts off slow but that doesn't mean you put it down-- believe me, it gets ALOT better as you progress

    7) Play it for the fun-not your life :)

    Hope this helps- KZAR

Oh, I know it......a notable release in 1992 was "Castle Wolfenstein 3D."  We might as well say LotRO is a clone of that too.....eh?  At least come up with something that makes sense my friend.  A troll......so be it.  Just don't be a bad troll, it shows both your ignorance and your IQ.

And to the OP, it sounds like you need to try out the game again.  Half ass'd is not a word I would use to describe the wold of LotRO.  It is one of the most enjoyable parts of the game IMO.  Sunny, cloudy, day, night....all the bases are covered with the exception of some weather effects.  I have seen it snowing, been in the fog, but, have yet to see any rain or storms.  Hmmmm......wonder why it doesn't rain in Middle Earth.

A key thing to remember is take your time when making a choice on your graphical settings

There is a lot of graphical fluff which has minimal benefit to your graphical experience like certain Stencil graphics.

If you turn off the options like that you can have the game on high settings with minimal lag.

At present I LOVE the graphics. I play on Medium Settings with a couple select Post Process features on to spice things up.

I cant get over that first field near archet with the flowers. I felt like stopping, sitting under a liquid amber tree and just resting

After playing mmorpgs for over a decade I have to admit those feelings dont come along every day.

I personaly love the world, it is like WoW but not as "cartoonish" for lack of a better word. It holds an overall steady theme depending on the place, the maps are the perfect size where walking from one end to another dosent take 12 hours, or 2 minutes.

Turbine turned off the weather effects for a while to fix some sound related issues with storms, and the strobing effect with lightning was making some people ill... lol

From what has been said by a few people who've seen them, the storms are amazing. My best friend plays this game and he said the storms were the best weather effects that he's ever seen in any game - period. Storms and rain will be back in on the evendim update, apparently.

Lol....that is too funny.  A developers worst nightmare.....the game made people physically ill.

I'm looking forward to the storms and rain.  Based on in game environmental graphics, I can see them as the best weather effects to date.  Awesome.....thank you for the update.

Well, for me it's not a "Pretty Graphics" thing.  It is a realistic graphics thing.  The closer they get to realism the happier I am.  I believe it to be a maturity thing myself.  When children are young you can plop them in front of a TV, turn on "CARTOONS" and they are engrossed for hours on end.  I have seen people use this as a babysitter for their child it works so well.  Flip the channel to something not "CARTOON" and the kids is .......upset.  As the child matures, his/her tastes mature.  Soon "CARTOONS" no longer hold their attention and they want "REAL."

Very much my opinion, but, the graphics are an important part of the game.  I would consider myself a graphics geek to be honest.  Graphics are like art though, beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder.  MMMMM.....3DStudio Max
