Wait supposedly SWG subs are still on the rise too rofl.
I find it hard to believe that after TBC has been out for this long that they are still getting more subscribers. Still don't know how people are still playing the game without the expansion as the expansion has not even met 1/4 the sales of the original game yes I know people have left since and never bought TBC cuz they were content with current content, but come on. Blizz seems to be pulling a $OE here saying there numbers are still rising.

all the info here: http://www.blizzard.com/press/
Subs will rise in a few months when TBC hits Asia, I will guess the western pop subs are decreasing but its not like 1000+ are leaving every day. WoW has dragged me back 2 times and I am sure im not alone in that. WoW has hit its peek but it wont die for many many years and will have milions of players in years to come.
Plus wow are very straight on how they count subs unlike SoE
World of Warcraft®'s Subscriber Definition
World of Warcraft subscribers include individuals who have paid a subscription fee or have an active prepaid card to play World of Warcraft, as well as those who have purchased the game and are within their free month of access. Internet Game Room players who have accessed the game over the last thirty days are also counted as subscribers. The above definition excludes all players under free promotional subscriptions, expired or cancelled subscriptions, and expired prepaid cards. Subscribers in licensees' territories are defined along the same rules.
The best indication of subscription numbers is whether or not the company is buying more servers or not buying any or closing them down.
Servers are incredibly expensive and a company it's going to invest in them unless it's absolutely necessary. Blizzard seems to have been adding new ones pretty steadily after dealing with the fiasco of their initial burst of sales. I wonder if anyone ever graphed the rate of servers being added to game?
march sales gave burning crusade 2nd overall pc game and wow 3rd.
april sales for the month are not available, but last week both were still in the top 10. don't remember the exact spots but the point is they are still selling tens of thousands of copies each month.
this of course does not necessrily means subs are increasing, but that they have a strady influx of new players, clear sign of a still very healthy game (no other mmorpg have ever been in the top 10 for 2 .5 years straight).
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
So that's 1.
My pet Monkey started playing yesterday, i am seeing if given time he can make it to level 70, and hoping to buy more Monkeys to test this theory, so thats +2
Actuelly i think subs could be rising but Blizz has about 2 months before they peak out and from their it will be a down hill graph in subs. IMO and many people i know who play WoW TBC left something to be desired and alot of people are contemplating quiting or already have. Not to say the game isn't good, but every game must die, and no matter how good wow is now facing alot more competiters who are slowly adding things to their game WoW doesn't have.
Nope sorry, actually I am a SWG fanboi grasping onto the hopes that they will close it down and release SWG2!!! Get your facts straight Mommy.
