anyone else hear about this? people say it's blizz's next project after SC2...i'm personally happy with SC2 but, oh well, damned fankids...anyways, i thought it over...i feel like this idea would fail...everyone would leave WoW to play it, leaving WoW desolate and unfunded and then when they realize that the Diablo MMO failed, they'd go back to find their precious WoW desolate, broken and abandoned by Blizz...in otherwords, it's a really bad idea right now...specially with AoC and WAR...anyways, just wondering if anyone else heard anything

I'll just put this out there before we get a few excited ppl speculating on what is, as u said a rumor,
correct me if i am wrong but i believe Blizzard has said they have no plans for, and do not intend to make another mmo in the forseeable future, if even at all.
i am not sure i am correct, as i stated when i wrote it, however i believe it was said in one of the news articles which came out in relation to the starcraft 2 announcement, and as to 'blizzard would be stupid not to make another mmo in the future':
1) i never said they wouldn't ever do it, although i mentioned it as a possibility.
2) currently World of Warcraft is the main competitor in the industry (in terms of figures) and so they would be damaging their own business (currently) however the effects of games such as LOTRO, WAR and AOC are yet to be seen.
who knows, there may yet be another blizzard mmo on the horizen, but i think it more likely we will see a further expansion on world of warcraft first
Why would it suck? Diablo & Diablo2 had big community playing them when they were released and Im pretty sure that most of the guys who loved D1 and D2 will atleast try out D3 or the "next diablo" since I don't know what name it will be using..
I personally think that if there will be new diablo game, many people WILL play it

Ok diablo 3 or diablo mmo will be very less likely come out....From my view...the next thing blizzard will do is another expansion pack for Warcraft 3...Due to the unfinished story of the frozen throne... Or they will make another expansion pack for WoW

There is something coming down the pipes that is MMORPG related since a Blizzard rep on the Blizzard forums said to watch for announcement regarding a single player game and a Significant MMORPG announcement. We've had the single player game announcement I guess we all will have to wait until Blizzcon for the MMORPG announcement It wouldn't surprise me at all if Diablo was going to be announced as an MMORPG.

Well maybe, if you say so - that's OK. But it's just hard to imagine - Diablo MMO would be everything but not Diablo itself, heh. Rumor has it that they are really expanding on the original idea of hack n slash Diablo, so maybe that representative was just talking about some sort of enhanced online gameplay over the Battle.net, like more options, gametypes and larger parties etc. But all in all - who knows? That's just guessing anyway...

even if they start a Diablo MMO blizz is going to be heading production for the starcraft mmo arnt they?
so if there is gonig to be a new Diablo, which millions would love im sure, it wont be out for a long while but if any one has any concrete news i want to hear it
