Time for a SWG2?

in SWG Veteran Refuge
SWG has been up and running for quite some time now, i belive there is something "someone" is doing about it, and this time i hope its Lucasarts that makes it instead cause they have a reputation for making good games, and "if" they do announce it i hope they close SOE's SWG contract for good! Dont you think so?

    I agree. I think Bioware should try it's hand at a MMORPG and it should be published with Lucas Arts to avoid SOE or any other third party publisher out to fuck the game over.



    The only problem with this is that SOE probably has a contract with Lucas Arts which prevents another MMORPG related to Star Wars to enter the market. If somehow Lucas Arts could take full Star Wars MMORPG rights back (or if they have them now, and just discontinue the game, but I doubt they do), then they should let Bioware develop a new game.



    They have probably made one of the best RPG games ever (in KOTOR), so I think they could really pull off a successful Star Wars MMO if given the chance.

    This could be made into a much better game than it is and to make a new one may be a very good idea although it would be a big risk.

    i really think starwars unvierse deserves a good and up to date MMO

    i wish some company does a new one

    Kotor would be amazing but i really doubt bioware works again togheter with lucasarts :(

    yeh, its about time lucasarts does something other than lego related stuff, some flight sim or some new indy games would do good but a new SWG would be the best, with im sure Bioware backing all the way

    Sweet! I haven't been looking around for this type of stuff, because honestly, it is painful to remember what swg was, and is now, so I basically tried to forget about it, and anything that has to do with Starwars as an mmo.

    If this is true, you will see me playing it for sure when it's released. If anyone can do it right, it's BioWare.

    well i suppose KOTOR MMO would revive SOME of SWG former glory...but it still lacks those little things that make a game great.  mine would be the ability to live away from a city, live off the land in some place far away and still make a living.

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
    -Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

        Muahahaha , hey those peeps are a great lot.  I used them to get my SWG accounts restored .  They got  played and owned by me.

    I think SWG had potential, and failed.  SOE ruined this game beyond all hope.   I want to see a Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic MMO.  I don't want dancers or any other stupid class.  I want to see Jedi and Sith.  Yeah you can add other classes, but please god, no stupid dancers.  I never felt like I had any purpose in SWG, even with NGE it lacked.  It just didn't captive my interest at all.  I would of rather played Maple Story, and that's bad.

    I'd love to see Raph Koster's new company do it, but I doubt that'll happen - and it's probably for the best so that he doesn't get confined to an IP.

    I wouldn't mind playing any other MMORPG's if it weren't for the completely crap animations I see constantly in them (a main reason that puts me off games like Saga of Ryzom or whatnot ) Cabal Online a now going f2p MMORPG has better animations and spell effects than nearly every game in the market today except for perhaps City of Heroes, I'm so sick of these cheap ass MMORPG's that just manage to scratch ahead of the pointless time sink list of my written work on my course.



    When I see my character get stronger I don't want to him to just go up a level, I want to to get better looking armour, weapons and magic not just have some flashy pixel animation go across the screen saying "Level up!" it's rather depressing that SOE couldn't see what they had was a great game and it just needed some bug fixes to be successful.

    After seeing all the Star Wars shows on the history channel last night, I'm ready to play some Star Wars MMOs. SWG why can't you be fun anymore?! I never personally play KOTOR, but I've watched my brother play it and I think it'd be interesting to see it in MMO form.

    This game no longer deserves to see the light of day, let alone another spawn of it. You want to see two complete failures? One is not enough for you sadistic freaks.

    I agree with a Knights of the Old Republic MMO.  That would be very cool, taking place thousands of years before anything in the modern Star Wars lore.

        Its really the only way most of us would play another Star Wars MMO since SOE will not meet our demands of Pre-CU servers.
