Stress from WoW!!!!

MrTumN3sMrTumN3s Member Posts: 439

WoW has been making me want to shoot myself lately.

- I am a lvl 52 pally, who is struggling to keep quests organized

-Everywhere i go, theres always 10 more quests to pick up, and not enough time to get them all done

-Grouping for quests has a been a tremendous havoc, noone will do it

- I am in one of the top clans on my realm, but they're all lvl 70 jerks who only care about themselves( irony anyone)

-I cancelled my account in hopes of relieving myself from this stress( just 8 days ago)

-However, the worst was yet to be seen

-My dad, a WoW addict repremanded me for doing this and activated the account again.

-He soon forced me to play. lol

-I found myself once again, sitting in front of the screen, in Burning Steppes, sobbing.

-Yes i said sobbing, i am a little girl( i am really a boy, but i was pouting like a infant)

-I tried getting the easy quests done first, the ones where you just have to deliver messages.

-When this happened however, i fell tall upon more and more quests after handing them in.

- I said screw it, and decided to try my Pally quest.

- The quest is literally impossible. It wants me to collect stuff that it doesnt even tell you where it is.

- This began my " Give up on WoW phase"

-When this phase began, i began saying to myself. Screw this, just mess around since you cant get anything done you noob.

- Followed by this, i decided to do crazy things like run into Org, Thunder, UD and trying to get myself killed. Jumping off the cliff at winterspring. Tricking elf noobs to jump off the side of Teldrasil.

-Then came reluctance!!

- I said , SCREW WOW! And went back to FPS gaming

-Shortly i downloaded some sick mods for HL2( The hidden, Battlegrounds 2)

-After playing numerous hours on end of FPS gaming, i found myself once again looking into the eyes of the beast, WoW.

Sad and depressed, i sit here drained from boredom and am yearning for something to do. Sure i could go outside and do stuff, but eh.

Peaceout, MrTumN3s

P.S ( i better not get a warning for this, i did nothing wrong)

P.S.S ( i know i am a lazy arse noob, so flaming is practically useless, but you can still flame if you wish)

I really do not know what to say to all that.

How about, "good luck to ya" ???

You are in the wrong guild.

You need to find one with people your own level. Of course lvl 70's don't want to quest with you.

That said the questing system in WoW doesn't promote team play. Rewards are not shared. Try City of Heroes for a much improved system of grouping.

First of all, you will never escape quests. There will always be quests to do. If not, you have some rep you need to be grinding to get more quests and such. Realize that although leveling is important, it's not the main driving force of the game.

Secondly, make a new character. More specifically, a character that you can pvp with and vent some of your anger and boredom out with. If you're not on a pvp server, get on one. If you're not on Horde, move to it. Alliance will, the majority of the time, lose any battlegrounds to Horde. Your new character should not be anything like your existing character (ie: don't make a hybrid class like pallies, druids, shamans). Try something you've never tried.

Lastly, find some friends. One of the lasting elements of MMOs is the community. If all you have to do is quest or level, it's more enjoyable with someone else. Make friends, sit around and chat, and eventually join a guild. Don't join a guild that's totally consumed with raiding. You'll get burned out very quickly. I hope this helps.

Simple do quest guides where you only do the quests that are worth it makes the game alot more fun and easy :P

This is my own personal opinion and preference, but trying CoH after playing WoW was one of the foolish decisions I ever made. The game seemed to lack depth. Sure you could customize your character different ways, but that was nothing to sheer boredom I experienced when playing. I'm not big into graphics, but CoH's graphics were a bit disappointing. After I sucker-punched a thug for stealing some lady's purse, returned it to her, then saw the same guy stealing other ladies' purses repeatedly, I was like WTF? Maybe I didn't get into the game as much, but from a first impression--it was crap in spandex.

I used to sort of be like you and trust me forget WoW. Try other MMO's instead and see if you can find one you like better then WoW and which wont cause you to stress out. You will be all the better for it in the end.

Hell try alternative MMO's like sand-box types of MMO's which are not quest driven but player driven and community event driven. My first suggestion is to give Ryzom a try and then EvE-Online a try. In those games you can try and be whatever you like and focus on one thing or branch out if you like. Both games are skill based so you wont be locked into one style of game play. If you want to tank well then do some tanking to get better at it. If in Ryzom you want to be range dps or a magic user or both then use those skills to get better at them.

In Ryzom the best and only gear comes from crafting. You have to quarter animals to get mats or go harvesting and prospecting for nodes that give mats. Certian mats only drop in certian areas and some are even seasonal only ! The community is friendly and helpful and you don't have to worry about quests unless you want to be friendly with certain NPC tribes to be able to walk into their camps safely.

Guilds also actually matter in that game because they are people who will help you get geared up via crafting and people who you will be grouping with no matter what and you don't have to worry about being a low level lowbie since that is a skill based game as I said before.

In sand box games you set the agenda and you decide what you should do or not do. They won't hold your hand though and they wont be as liner and as scripted as WoW. If those don't appeal to you then give other more traditional MMO's a shot like EQ2, LOTRO, CoV/H etc... The point being is that don't go cold turkey when it comes to anything in life. Ease your way off MMO's by trying other ones and if you like those other games better and you aren't as stressed out you win/win.

Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2.

    Game(s) I Am Currently Playing:

    GW2 (+LoL and BF3)

Sometimes you need to take a break from any MMOs, like you from time to time I get tired of WoW too and go back to playing an FPS or RTS games for a week or two.

    Good Luck

1: Get out of the guild and find a new one more suited for your level

2: Don't try to do all quests. You are not supposed to do all of them. the reason there are so many quests is so you can chose which one you want to do.

3: Don't force yourself to play. only play when you feel like it.

4: You don't really have to do group quests. you can skip them without missing out. Like I said, there are plenty of quests for you to chose from.

quests on lvl 52 are much harder, but it depends where you quest, also find a good friends who will help you quest like your guild or someone else

I didn't like questing on lvl 52, instead i was visiting instances, they are a much quicker way to lvl

I never actually had problems with WOW, but if you stress so much then may be WOW isn't your type but you are still addicted to it.  If that is how it is, then find something new to do, new game, new hobby, or what ever...

i hope this answered your question.

This is good advice. I would suggest either taking a break from MMORPGs or playing a different one as suggested here. I played Ryzom for a while and found it to have the best community that I had ever experienced in a game. The guild I was in with Ryzom still to this day considers me a member and I talk to them on their forums sometimes. The game wasn't for me so I left but it's a good game and may be a nice change of pace for you.

Personally I never do quests in MMORPGs unless I have to. Maybe thats why I don't like WoW. I prefer open ended games where the quests are created by me or other players. Good luck.

If you think it's bad at level 52 then wait until your level 70. I got totally feed up with brainless people being insulting because I made the slightest mistake. Sorry that I couldn't be as good as them but I HAVE A LIFE and cant play 18 hours a day. So I quit. Flame me if you want, I dont care :) I dont miss wow one bit. Though it's a good mmorpg but totally pointless at max level unless you want to group all the time.

Anyway one bit of advice I'll give you is use thottbot: (http://www.thottbot.com) there you can find information on just about all the quests. Dont waste time trying to figure out how to do the quests, just read about them.

If the questing is killing you, just wait for the reputation grind. My god........it's terrible.

Try Everquest 2.  So far all of the quests I've done are soloable and I'm nearing lvl 20.  I'm sure this will change in the higher lvls though.

Also, the community is a lot nicer than WoWs.  People have helped me out a lot with answering questions and giving me tips.

Thx guys, i've tried things from CoH and i am now just waiting for AoC and WAR and other awsome MMO's. WoW is tedious now. I dont want to play it, but theres part of me that wants to get to 70 but it seized by the impossible questing.

PvP is a good idea, and a alt, but BGing as a 52 in a 50-59 BG is like ugh!

I can't understand how people get so worked up about WoW.

Its so easy a caveman can do it.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
