Looked into this and it doesnt start till jun 26th. Surprised no one bumped this thread. Infantry was awesome when it was free and its a shame that sony sucked the life out of this game as it will never be as great as it could of been but im looking forward to getting back into it.

SOE sadly had to re-learn a marketing lesson - all for nothing! Back when Infantry was free, around 2000 - 2001, it got non mmorpg players to visit their site. Which ment some of them would be curious about the other games at sony.com which leads to them signing up for EQ, SWG, etc....

Infantry was one of the first ever online games I played. My most favorite feature was how the game allowed players to sneak into the enemy (other players) base, and STEAL the enemy (other players) vehicles and use it against them. Another feature Infantry had was the L.O.S. view. On the old cSWG forums the game DEVs were discussing using LOS view in cSWG. LOS view = you only see on your screen, what your in-game character is able to see with their eyes. If a player is standing 50 feet behind your character, they will not appear on your screen, because your in game character cannot see them. It made for some amazing, scary, PvP.

I wonder if SOE will also make Cosmic Rift free again? I haven't visit SOE's site in tooo long a time.

Actually it is already free. There are no guest modes. Stats save. Yes ALL station pass games are now free including Cosmic rift. If you guys do come back help me spread the word so our player base gets to what it was back in '00.

I loved this game so much! At the time I didnt have the extra money to sub and never went back to it. Im getting it right now! I hear that it has a good guest program? Cant wait to play, CTF rocks so hardcore there. It was a great gaming experience.

The game will be completely free on June 26th. At the moment, the SOE rep guy said the game would be in a "transition" phase from May 26th to June 26th. I'm not entirely sure what's up during the transition phase, but I think people just signing up now can still play as if it were free.
