Grenado Espada free

I was at the game store today and looked at the pre order box of Sword of the New world GE.  I asked the guy whether or not it will have a monthly fee but did not know.  he then looked around the box and found small print on the bottom that said Free2Play, i think it is a game company or a distributer or something.  Anyways am i too late?  Have people already posted regarding fees?!

its NOT free. there will be a monthly fee of 9$ a month.

    pc.ign.com/articles/782/782553p1.html

"One of the ways K2 is doing this with Sword of the New World is by introducing a reduced monthly fee but including microtransactions for items not integral to the enjoyment of the gaming experience. The 8.95 USD monthly fee is a bit lower than your average so players that don't care about microtransactions should find this pretty affordable. There will be a free version of the game as well, but those players will only be able to level their characters up to 20 and will be restricted from trade in order to keep the mule count down."

I think You are confusing two different game publisher for same game.

In singapore, Infocomm Asia Holdings: Granado Espada is free (at least for now)

In USA, K2 network: Sword of the New World will have monthly cost

I'm not sure will Granado Espada gonna stay free or is it just the beta state?

MMORPG.COM has worst forum editor ever exists

I did not mix them up. If you read the OP, you'll notice that he is talking about Sword of the New World: Granado Espada, not the singapore version of Granado Espada. While Granado Espada singapore may be free (Still unknown, its in open Beta now), the version the OP is talking about is not free.

They are essentially the same game with different distributors. K2N will be North America with a P2P item shop Hybrid scheme (reduced montly fee and a cash shop) and IAH Singapore (also in English) has  not been determined yet but there are very strong indications it will most likely be free to play with a cash shop.

According to both companys they will both have a item mall.  SOTNW with a monthly sub + item mall = horrible idea.  Maybe they will realize this befor release.

I don't think its a horrible idea. Because of the Item mall, they can put themself 5$ below the average monthly fee of 15$. Also, keep in mind that we don't know what those items are. they probably won't add any imbalance or anything like that, more like customization options.

Item shop games are not free, only the gullible try to convince themselves and others of that fantasy. Item shop games are designed to encourage the purchase of those items, otherwise the games would fail. Someone is buying those items.

Doesnt matter how you put it a F2P game with an item mall is still free, its more about how strong your willpower is.  And unfortunatly most people have very weak willpower so item malls will always work.

I agree!  While i loath monthly fees, monthly fees show a good game getting better.  Also a hybrid cash shop with monthly sub lowers price and i will take that any day.  You dont even have to buy things from cash shop so it will be like its not even there!

Can put themselves below the 15$/month fee?  You realize not every game has to be 15$ a month, and that in fact its a very large rip off.

Anyways I think the reason cash shops work well is that pay to play is such a large rip off, with an item mall you feel less animosity towards the company since they are in fact doing you a favor by letting you play.

And the reason they are announcing sword of the new world as free is because they are a scummy company, I dont care who does it or what game it is its a scummy marketing ploy.

They didn't announce Sword of the New World as free.  In fact, I'll show it to you right now to get this rediculous rumor out of the window.

    www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/swordofthenewworld/news.html

This is the official press release when K2 network for the first time announced Sword of the New World.

    And I quote:

"Free Trial and Premium Editions - Download and play the trial version of the game for free or buy the premium, boxed copy for additional content and gameplay experiences."

They clearly spoke of a FREE TRIAL.

I have to laugh at some of you.  All these free to play games eventually require you to purchase stuff from the item mall.   You get to a point where, without the items, advancement is quite hard or impossible.

Did you know that the average player, spends more than the $15 a month in the item malls.

Woah to the genre if this becomes a more common occurance.   And with K2 you have to pay a fee on top of that?

No matter how could you tell me this game is, I would not touch it with an infinite pole, especially the k2 version.

The free to play is a misnomer, it should read free to start, big bucks to continue.

Actually I have played a number of item mall mmorpg's, some for quite a long time actually, and I never spend any money at an item mall.

So now i'm simply going to laugh at your ignorance.

And as I already explained god knows how many times, we do not know what the items are. the item shop most likely will NOT be the same as the one of other versions

I do not see a problem with  item malls within general.   If I want to pay $5 extra a month for XP bonuses or for a different look then so be it.   Now if they were to sell stuff that was actually game breaking PVP wise I could understand people getting upset  but there is very little so far to even hint that they are going to sell any type of game breaking items.

XP Bonuses, cosmetic changes, low level stat increases, extra storage space these things are not game breaking.

Yes you are right. These things are a nice add on that enhance the fun of the game.  Plus adding an item mall lowers the monthly fee, how bad can it be?!

Ya exp increases are alright, especially since a month into the game theres already tons of high levels anyways so theres no need to compete.

"Breath of the dying" and "ultra giant sword of 2x the damage of anything you can find" weapons are gay.
