    For those filling out the application



    Make sure to do it at home, since they want a dxdiag.txt.



    I drove home from work today, to fill it out :D

    Hmm... this could bode ill for people with less than the latest PC hardware, both in terms of beta acceptance and ability to play the game.  That's OK, I'm going to buy or build a new box right before it comes out....

    It just keeps telling me "You Country is not Authorized" whenever I choose U.S. or any other country...

    I believe that US apps are only for newsletter members at this time.

    Are you sure that US people can sign up to a EU beta ?



    Im surpriced that EU gets sign up first? i have seen that happen before

    Its not that surprising. keep in mind that the EU version is hosted by a different company, they probably do things a little differently from EA mythic.

    GOA (same guys who host DAoC) actually have the rights to contribute it to the Europeans, so they are free to do those things on they're own. I think the US beta applications started too. At least i saw a link in the newsletter i opened yesterday.

    I don't think so, I had no trouble applying with mine. They also tell you in the application notes that if you do NOT already have a newsletter account, signing up for the Beta will qualify you for an automatically made newsletter account.

    Then some other stuff about having to cancel your newsletter account to be qualified.

    I just hope that GOA learned something from Daoc, and will be giving a better service this time

    well.. let's check their fabolous beta sign up (incredible how they manage to screw up somethign as simple as a sign up)

    1) the whole thing scream "style before substance" might be cyberpunk but for a beta application? I would have gone for a completely normal one without the graphics flashes.

    2) "name" please insert your name..... what? which name? writing "family name" is too fatiguing? if the second wasn't labelled "First name" I was a bit at loss... and what about people that have 2+ first names? could be confusing right?

    3) password. need 2 digits and 2 uppercase letters.... 4 lowercase.... uh? what's the deal with 2 uppercase letters? harder for us to remember the super password? I really do not get this weird decision, but then again GOA has some fixation with password... I mean we could not even change our password in daoc... just reset it from "xgflowiovkijsf" to "gfkwrhsivsk".

    Yea the beta sign up page was abit weird. But i guess that we need extra security these days. With all these scamers, hackers, crackers and what not.



    Hell i didnt mind it, as long as i get in beta :D
