Tell me why I should care?

AnnekynnAnnekynn Member Posts: 1,437
I am not a fan of Everquest. However, with all the talk recently about EQ2 ive decided to see what all the fuss is about. Ive read the faqs and such to get an idea of the game mechanics, but ive come here to ask you folks this simple question: why should I care about EQ2? Please try to inform me what makes this game special and/or better than any of the other next gen games coming out (WoW, DnL, DE etc). And to simplify things, I am not interested in Graphics/Sound/Voice/Music as all new games are 'good enough' for me.

okay, for one, id like to point out all of the quests in EQ2 which out-match any other game. WoW which is supposedly "chock-full of quests" is releasing with 17,000+ quests. Now, you may say "gee-golly-gosh! that sounds quest-tastic!" well, it may be good, but EQ2 will be coming in with 20,000+ quests, now that, i like to call is the "orgasmo-quest!".

Another point is Customization, WoW offers 9 races, 6 classes and a couple of funky choices for appearance. But! (ohhh i said but! i must have a seeeecreet!!image) EQ2 will offer TONS (gasp! thats more than.... pounds!!!) of customization. From 16 races, to 24 classes, each with sub-classes, offers you the chance to make some KA-RAZY characters, AND (I LIKE CAPS image) there will be alot of tools to give you the appearance you desire, from age, height, brow, mouth, eye, hair, muscle tone, and even... (gasp what could it be?!....read on ^^) UNIQUE RACIAL APPEARANCES (...echo) Like for Ratonga (i believe) can have ALL kinds of facial piercings, like lip rings, ear-rings (now who ever heard of that?), nose rings, brow rings, ring rings... and so on.

There is some more stuff i could say... but im tired, and you know what THAT means!

WoW currently has 1,700+ quests, not 17,000, and it will release with over 2,000+ quests when it finally comes out. EQII has currently 1,700+ quests, not 20,000, but it hasn't even gone through beta testing yet, so there will undoubtably be more quests added. Also WoW offers 8 races not 9, and it offers 9 classes not 6.

There are many many reasons why EQII will undoubtably excell and appeal to many people, I would suggest going to the EQII forums and read the FAQ's and posts by OFFICAL people such as Moorgard upon the game mechanics if you are interested in why people are makeing such a fuss about this game. There are many new and innovative things that the EQII Devs will be testing and attempting to incorporate into the final gameplay design. I'll see if I cant find some constructive posts upon peoples oppinons for you and link them later.
