1. Will there be player housing or do you just log off in the middle of no where?

2. Will there be corpse looting or ship looting?

3. What crafting skills do they have or farming ect?

4. Is this similar to WoW where all you do is pvp and pve?

5.  How big is the world map?

6. Will there be instancing?

7. Can you own an island if the world is large enough if a home at all?

8. No safe areas for pvp meaning you can pvp anywhere at all?

    1. Will there be player housing or do you just log off in the middle of no where?

There will be ports, but no housing on release afaik

    2. Will there be corpse looting or ship looting?

Yes, both, you can also capture whole ships and cargo

    3. What crafting skills do they have or farming ect?

All ships and their upgrades, plus other items, are player made, you have 10 land slots that you can allocate to gathering, crafting and storing items. Think of this part as an RTS almost (read the article linked below)

    4. Is this similar to WoW where all you do is pvp and pve?

Questing, levelling etc, it has similarities but overall seems deeper, again, check the link below :)

    5.  How big is the world map?

It's the carribean of the 1720s, scaled afaik to that size

    6. Will there be instancing?

Sort of, not like WoW etc afaik

    7. Can you own an island if the world is large enough if a home at all?

Not afaik, you can help your nation to capture and control ports/islands though

    8. No safe areas for pvp meaning you can pvp anywhere at all?

Areas are safe until they enter into "Contention" (think that's spelt right) where another nation through a series of actions, begins to challenge a ports ownership, it then becomes a pvp zone which you can avoid or enter, read the article below :P

I would highly recomend this article: www.whitewolfclan.net/pobs/review.htm

    Hope that helps :)

also no idea why it's treated everything as a quote -.-

Well as far as instancing, one interesting type of instancing that I know of is when you are ingaged in naval combat and board a ship. After exchanging fire, you can come in close to your opponent's ship and board it. You and your opponent enter an instance on his or her ship as you and your crew battle it out against the enemy captain and his or her crew. If you win the battle, the ship is yours!

As for PVP areas, the open sea is considered pvp areas. Its close to ports that arn't in contention that are not pvp. Once enough unrest has been acuired between two nations, the port goes into contention, then the area around that port is pvp. Unless the contention is between any nation vs. pirates. Then its just pirate pvp, or pvp b/w the nation and all pirates.

If you want a lot more of your questions answered go to www.burningsea.com its the game's official website.
