EverQuest II: Part 1 (of 3) for "The Journey Begins"

SOE (Sony Online Entertainment) recently released part one of a three part story, complete with a movie featuring exciting in game footage. This gives fans of Everquest 2 something to look forward to when Everquest 2 enters beta (and is eventually released). The video offers a fantastic view of some of the excellent character models as well as Norrath's stunning environment. The movie concludes with a brief battle with some orcs, complete with some incredible spell effects. It certianly appears that battles will also occur faster and will be much more complex then the original Everquest. Be warned that the movie does take a long time to load (it's worth it in the end!)

Yep you are right, it should have been "The Journey of Heroes Begins!" as stated on the EQ2 Players link: http://eq2players.station.sony.com/.
In any case, I think the story and the new footage is pretty neat. SoE is really trying to keep people interested in the game by giving little "bread crumbs" of content.
The movie is amazing, just wish you could actually download it instead of stream it.

FIX I FOUND!
I had the same problem on one PC and not another, it turned out the one with Media Player 9 worked and the one with an older version didn't, so I upgraded that one to Media Player 9 as well and now they both work!

I tested this with Firefox 0.8 and with MSIE 6.0 but it's the same: The movie is not working.

After watching the movie, I was impressed by the graceful moves of the spellcasters and the battle effects for casters and melee characters. Also, interesting was the detail of the orcs shaking their fists and other movement which looked like taunts.
Yes, I think SOE is trying to placate us with breadcrumbs...I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no delays!
Was very impressed by the detail and quality of the graphics and the smoothness of the movement of the characters.
Hope this turns out to this good in live play.
