Which patches?

I used to play DAoC way way back.  I thought I'd try the game again, and installed the trial version from Fileplanet.

Mythic Updater is downloading a bunch of stuff right now, but there is a link to download the "Catacombs", which sends me to a page full of patches for Shrouded Isles, Trials of Atlantis, etc etc.

Should I download any of these patches, or are they already included in the 2GB trial download which I've already installed?

yah some of those patches are needed.  i would get them and try them out.  there should be a housing patch as well so you can check out the player housing areas.  But if you want to play most of the game they allow you in those 10 days i would get all of them.  except toa lol because its end game lore really lol but i would get what the website tells you to get and read what they have already in them.

I quit the game right after ToA came out.  I have all the disks somewhere

One last question...My old mains used to be a Wizard and Bonedancer, with some dabbling in other various classes.

Any recommendations on classes I should try...or avoid?  Seems archers and stealthers are overplayed and somewhat hated by the community, from what I've read.

    Thanks in advance.

i suggest play what you think is fun.  I had a theurgist, necro, scout on galahad and then on garath i had a skald, bone dancer, and warlock.  All the daoc classes are very fun to play.  Some do better solo than others and im sure you know so I would just pick what you think is appealing and go for it.

Or, what do you like to do in rpgs.  Spell cast? tank? support?  what kind of tanking and supporting? do you like to use pets?

Everything is included in the trial already. (except Darkness Rising and LotM, of course) You don't have to download anything else, really.
